    Brought used dishwasher to Shoal Lake from Wpg, Mb beginning of Sept. 2024..working in Wpg but drained on floor. Thought simple fix, thinking some damage on route. Dave ******** a handyman knew nothing bout so took to Allen Choy Appliance in town where it stayed too long, left messages not returned. Dave was told was $*** but Kevin **** phoned to tell me over $*** & better pay. Late at night, I did send e-transfer as payment method .
    Heard nothing, left messages but no machine. When Dave did bring it back, it was draining on floor & it’s been back n forth..no better than took in & paid $***..I’ve left couple messages, no response…
    Henry ****, the repairman came with Dave when brought back last week checking if it runs. Didn’t drain in floor but hardly drained at all.. left messages.. He said he only replaced one part but Mevjn the brother said 2..confusing & stressful

    Our firm stands firm that the claimant’s dishwasher draining on the floor was repaired with a full estimate of costs, that the claimant was under no pressure to pursue repairs, and that it was advised for her to purchase a new dishwasher from whatever vendor she prefers. This is especially the case whereby the claimant notes that she purchased the dishwasher used in Winnipeg and that the draining on the floor may have been caused by breakage of the dishwasher in transport from Winnipeg.

     

    Communication with the claimant was either through both her handyman who brought the dishwasher in for repair or through phone calls to the claimant. The claimant indicated claimed would be absent but under stress due to her move from Winnipeg and for medical surgery. It is unfortunate that the claimant states our firm provided “no response”. She was responded to, with the exception of a call to our firm from her at 3AM.

     

    The dishwasher performed well after repair as demonstrated in our shop to her handyman prior to returning the dishwasher to her. The dishwasher performed well in her home with our technician and the handyman as witness. With the unit repaired as requested, and as a used portable unit, it was recommended to improve dishwasher draining speed with a new hose. Improvement in the speed of draining was demonstrated with the flexing of the worn hose. This could only be revealed after servicing the original problem draining to the floor. The claimant denied the recommendation.

     

    ANALYSIS

     

    The claimant’s dishwasher draining on the floor was repaired and demonstrated as working. She was given a full quote prior to her payment to service, and was recommended to purchase a new dishwasher from whatever vendor she preferred. The dishwasher repair was serviced as witnessed by her handyman and our shop and by both the handyman and the claimant with our technician in her home.

     

     

     

    CONCLUSION

     

    With over 50 reputable years in the service repair industry, over 60 years in the service and retail sector with hundreds of satisfied household and commercial customers from Moosomin to Swan River and Portage la Prairie our firm is affronted by the customer’s claim. Our firm’s charges are nominal and were agreed upon prior to payment. The original problem of draining on the floor was serviced with the claimant denying replacing her drain hose to improve the speed of drainage, a different issue.

     

    Our firm, therefore, resolutely denies return of any money back.
