    Lots of work not completed.

Work was not completed properly, overlooked other problems on hoses

Power steering line is still leaking as of March 4, 2025.

    Business Response

    Date: 04/03/2025

Mr. ****** came to us as a sublet WO from *********, an auto repair finance company.  Numerous issues were identified, but due to financing limits (********* issues title repair loans) there were additional items unaddressed at the time the other repairs were completed.  We addressed what we received approval for from ********* (after they discussed it with their client, Mr ******), and released the vehicle back to Mr. ****** after he completed his loan agreement with them.

We do warranty repairs for work the we did, on parts we replaced, for all services we recieved payment on.  When Mr ****** visited the shop on Monday, March 3, 2025 to have his vehicle reinspected, the coolant leak was found in a new location/part and he refused to hear the cost to repair and demanded we fix it for no charge.  When we explained this to him, and his Service Provider, he became angry and belligerent with the staff present.  Due to this level of communication, we asked that he leaves and re-visits when he is more acceptable to hear what issues remain, the cost involved and we can come up with a service plan.  We also spoke with ****, his service advisor with *********, and explained he has a new/separate leak in a different location on his coolant system. Once this was explained, they agreed this was not a warranty issue/item.

Mr ****** then lodged this complaint this morning in response.  We understand that care car can costly, when left off or purchasing an new to you vehicle and you want it in its best condition.  We try to give access to cost-friendly repairs and services, but do not complete or undertake any work when they arrive refusing to understand their are cost that come with service.

Purchased the winter tire but we did not receive out summer tires back

    Business Response

    Date: 02/01/2025

We did a change over service for this client.  Summers that were mounted to the original factory tires (as pictured in the inspection attached) were returned to the client as received when removed from the vehicle to install the new winter tires.  Over 1 week later this client called to say they did not get back the tires, then that they got the wrong tires back and did not recognize the brand on the summer tire set.  This all was after the client tried to have the winter set purchase covered by warranty, but due to the mechanical condition of the vehicle (loose control arms) causing the pre-mature wear, her warranty claim was denied (wear seen in inspection, and condition of control arms).  This is viewed as a further attempt to extort the cost of the winter tires out of the company.  If we had in fact misplaced or not returned her summer tires, she would have come back in on the pick up and asked why her tires weren't in her vehicle or much sooner.  Then the changing story about which tires were returned is why we declined to further assist the client.  There were multiple conversations, witnessed and including 3 different team members, and attempts to resolve with her, including a resolution ticket submitted to our corporate team.  If she had in fact not gotten the mounted tires back, this complaint would include the wheels they were mounted to, which she says she has.

I wasn't presented with an estimate prior to work beginning. ******** ** work that wasn't done by "Experts", I had to spend another $****** to correct.

    Business Response

Brake Master cylinder was not work done or performed by Midas.  Found a defective caliper on the vehicles left rear and replaced it during service.  Vehicle was brought to us on Apr 17th of 2023 Estimate # on invoice is YEAR/MONTH/DATE/CAR# of when estimate was started). We inspected the vehicle and called Dennis (calls are recorded) with an estimate and given verbal approval to complete the work.  Due to the make/model, we were required to bring parts in from out of town and did not complete the work until April 29th, where it was picked up on a trailer and taken by Dennis.  This vehicle was not plated or insured when it was at our shop.  All parts installed came with a life time parts warranty, if the need came or parts where installed as defective.

By the vehicle inspection notes on the 3rd party agent that Dennis took the cars to, there was no errors, defective parts or cause for issue found with the work we did complete.  Since they were able to test drive the vehicle, they found another issue with the master cylinder apparently, and Dennis elected to have that work done with them.

Not only did not do anything wrong, obtained verbal confirmation on the vehicle, and would have corrected any issues found with the work done, if the vehicle had been brought back to us for further inspection.  We did not see the vehicle again, nor have we had any communication with Dennis in regards to any issues with work done.

We are of course sorry to hear Dennis required additional work for his vehicle.  We meet as many of his needs as we could given the vehicle insurance status.

We have record of call with Dennis on April 28th, 2023; at 11:11am where the work needed was discussed, prices given for the work (he did mention having a quote for the work for less somewhere else) but gave us the go ahead and approval to complete the work once it was promised ready by the end of the day.  It was picked up and closed on the 29th of April, 2023.  Dennis even confirms his cell phone number during the call as ************, which is how it was recorded on his invoice as well.

We have the call record as an MP4 and offered to share this record when speaking with Dennis yesterday on March 15th, 2024.  We will gladly share this call log to close this complaint and show our due diligence and good faith.
