Trying to return a case (atleast) of siding that I purchased for my house. I was helped by a staff member of Timberstone in Winnipeg and they over ordered by 2 cases. When I talked to the manager they said nothing they could do. I said that I was quoted that much by their staff and I can understand a partial case of extra but two cases of the one product is crazy and they need to know how to quote. Or take product on return. I understand this may have been a newer employee but then she shouldn’t have been on her own or have another staff go over the quote when it is $**** or more. The cases are over $*** each and I said I would keep or pay for one if they return one. Even said they can have both cases if they give me back money for the one. I also have 1/2 and 3/4 of a case of other material that I am ok with. But the over quote should be their problem.

TimberStone Distribution is a supplier/distributor of materials and are not contractors or estimators. In the case of where a Homeowner is acting as their own contractor it is and remains incumbent on them to ensure the amounts estimated are correct.  Our staff are trained to communicate this to our customers. The order in question was placed in September of 2023,balance paid in December of 2023, free storage until picked up in April of 2024 and a request to return material in June of 2024. The employee that worked with the customer had unfortunately left our employ in December of 2023 making it somewhat difficult to ascertain that the proper communication was relayed to the customer, which in turn could also become a case of “he said she said”. Would a fair compromise be to allow the return of the material as described by the customer, and upon TimberStone receiving an order for this specific type and color of siding a return of funds be issued at that time?
