    Hello, I paid for parking at the University of Manitoba's lot on November 18, 2022. I had paid for 3 hours which cost me $****. Once I had purchased the ticket, I noticed that the paid parking expired at 4:30pm, which is the exact time that I purchased the ticket. I contacted the parking services the following Monday, as they were not open on the weekend. I explained my situation to them and they said they would look into why that machine would charged me during non-restricted hours in which paid parking was not required. They got back to me to inform me that they would not be issuing a refund because the machines are active 24/7 so that people can pay for parking when an event is in place or to pay for the next day's parking. However, during the time I got charged, there was no event going on, no restricted hours, and, the parking ticket stamp expired that same day,and at the exact time I purchased it, therefore not charging me for the next day. Therefore, I was charged $**** during a time when there was no payment needed, and furthermore, did not even get the 3 hours for the following day. I have been emailing back and forth with them for the past week trying to receive either a refund or a credit for 3 hours to use at another date. They have consistantly denied my request as they have claimed that they, nor their machines were in the wrong and that they do not issue refunds for any mistake on the client's part. They insist that I made the mistake of paying during non-restricted hours but fail to acknowledge that I was charged $**** and got nothing for my money as the ticket expired at 4:30pm. They claim that if I were to have paid for the ticket after 4:30pm, the ticket would have shown parking for the next day. * **** * ***** ** ****** * ***** ** ******* ** ******* ** ******* ******** ** ******. I would like a refund or a credit for 3 hours of parking to be used at a further date, as I was charged $**** but got nothing in return. Kindest regards, Darien

    Good morning,

    After reviewing the submitted complaint and the customers original correspondence with our office, the request for refund remains denied.

    In lieu of a refund, the customer can use the provided coupon code at any one of pay stations located in L lot.

    To utilize the code, the customer must select 3 hours of parking and when prompted, enter the code provided which will validate the parking with a credit.

    1 time use between 01/12/2023 and 12/31/2023
