    On July 15th just before 5:00 p.m. a person became trapped in one of our elevators. A call went into our answering service who then called our maintenance person on call. Our maintenance person on call got in contact with our elevator service company and they came to the building released the passenger and fixed the problem. After our maintenance person on call left the building he received a call from the Otis technician. Our maintenance person on call told the Otis technician that the problem was fixed and they did not need to go to the site. Later in August we received an invoice from Otis $*******. When we contacted them regarding the invoice, Otis said we were responsible for the invoice because they responded to a call. The person that they said made the call had no authorization to call Otis. Otis does not have a contract at our building and they would have known that. They thought to call our office after they had come to the site, but should have called our office number before coming and we would have told them not to come. The technician came to our building and couldn't get in the front door. He then proceeded to the side door where someone was moving in and slipped in with the movers (as seen on video cameras). Again, they did not have authorization to be in our building. Otis claims they do not have to nor do they actually do get prior authorization in this type of case. Otis is insisting that we pay the invoice.
