I called Reliable Heating yesterday because our AC stopped working. A service technician came within the specified timeframe and immediately informed us that the ac needs to be replaced. He didn't opened the unit, - not sure if he has an xray vision. This diagnosis was made in less than 3 minutes and charged us $*** + plus). I let him go and paid the company although the amount they charged is NOT align with the quality of the service we received. I called again to complain about the service. Another technician came and perform proper inspection of the unit. He recommended the same thing. We decided to get a new ac with them however, I changed my mind and cancelled it today. I realized that it's not worth it doing business with them.

Xenia called us on Canada Day which is after hours because it is a holiday so we charge $****** plus taxes for after hour emergency service calls. The customer knew what the price was and the technician that was first sent there put on his refrigeration gauges to check to see if there was freon which it did but the unit wasn't coming on because of electrical issues because of mice. The unit was in really rough shape as it was over 40 years old.
Our technician then left for our office to follow up on pricing but before that could happen the customer called to complain about our technician.
Our service manager talked to Xenia and explained to her he would go out to explain everything to her. Our service manager went to Xenia's house immediately after he talked with her and walked her and her family through everything and explained why the unit wasn't working and she decided to get a new unit. Again her old unit was over 40 years old and was in very rough shape.
We didn't charge extra for the service manager to go there, we were very professional and tried to make this customer happy. We were even willing to take off the $****** service call if she got a new air conditioner from us which it sounds like she needs.
To only pay $****** plus taxes on one of the hottest days of the year which fell on a day that was a holiday and to have a technician and the service manager to come out to answer her questions makes me wonder what this customers motives are. She is online shaming our receptionist and technician and the service manager when we were nothing but professional and competent. It isn't our fault that she has a unit that is over 40 years old that had a bunch of mice in it! She may feel like there are better companies but i can guarantee you we are one of the best in Winnipeg. We are family and locally owned and we care about all our customers.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Reliable Heating and Air Conditioning for the supply and installation of a new Air to Air Heat Pump hybrid heating and cooling system in our home. From start to finish, the experience was great and seamless.
The Sales Representative (Terry) reviewed our home requirements and provided us a detailed estimate for sizing and cost for a new system. He was very responsive to our questions etc. and took the time to understand our needs and provided answers to all our questions. He also stated that his office would lead us through the Manitoba Efficiency rebate process for heat pumps. We requested if we could contract another home owner who had this system installed for a few years now. The Sales Representative made the arrangements and we spoke to them. They provided positive feedback and stated that there was an electrical heating load reduction in line with what was quoted in the sales literature.
The new air to air heat pump is a well known product brand that is manufactured in the USA.
The installation team arrived on the agreed upon time, laid out ground cover sheets and went to work. They were efficient and everything was installed by the scheduled time. They took the time to explain how to operate the new systems. The work area was left clean and tidy, which I greatly appreciated.
We are extremely satisfied with the service provided. The quoted price did not change even though there were a couple of changes made to conform to Code. Their expertise, quality products, and customer service definitely meet our expectations. ** ***** ********* **** ** ****** ** **** ** **** *********Reliable Heating & Air Conditioning Ltd.

Reliable installed an expensive heat pump system in my home 17 months ago. The system still does not work properly. When its cold outside the system cannot heat the living room to 21 C and it overheats the bedrooms. When its hot outside the system cannot cool the living room or bedrooms to 22 C. The air going through the ducts is very loud, and the system runs almost non-stop.
After failed attempts to fix the system, Reliable sent out a representative from the **** ********* company and a technician. Both experts told me that the duct going from the basement to the living room is too small to heat that room. An 8” duct could never heat or cool a 900 square foot room. The undersized duct is also why the forced air is loud and the system runs almost non-stop.
I asked Reliable’s owner (Clint *******) to provide his calculations for how much heat that 8” duct can supply to the living room compared with how much heat that room needs (this is the first step that a professional takes when designing a system). He had not done this essential calculation when he designed the system and refuses to do it now. He also refuses to provide me with the report and email about the system that the **** ********* representative wrote based on his inspection.

Our original plan(made by me) was to run ductwork underneath the cabin but as per customer he didn't want to run it underneath. He didn't want to pay extra for boxing it in and insulating it. The customer admitted to this over the phone with me.
James discussed a way to run the ductwork with the sales guy and our service manager. The designed ductwork now changed to accommodate James' cottage. When the installers were there they told James that they should move the air handler back for more airflow which they did. I went out there for the first time and knew the ductwork wasn't big enough with the change of plan from the original ductwork that I had planned to go underneath the cabin. As being a locally and family owned company I changed the ductwork and increased the size to lower the noise when the unit was running and did not charge customer anything additional.
In any new build or existing build you have a design plan that can change due to accomadations to the home owner or for the contracter. At that point they are giving the o.k.
The system has been working for over a year. We have replaced the thermostat for warranty and we have sent the daikin tech support to make sure the equipment is running the way it should which it is.
It has always been seen that he has needed the additional duct runs for the living room. That is an extra charge that the customer doesn't want to pay.
That was of part of the original plan with the ducts running under the cottage which James declined that option from the start of the job. We still haven't been paid in full and he started threatening to leave bad reviews on every platform which he is doing here.

The owner will say that I changed the design from the original when they came to do the install. That is completely untrue. Reliable’s salesman and service manager came out to see the cottage in order to provide a proper price quote. I told them then that I didn’t want any ducts going outside of the cottage as a lot of money had been spent air sealing and insulating the building to make it as energy efficient as possible. The salesman, service manager and I all agreed that all ductwork would stay inside the building. The price quote that was later sent by the salesman was based on all ducts inside the building. That quote should have included a duct much larger than 8” going from the basement to the living room area.Review fromDeborah C

5 starsExceptional service. I have been using this company for furnaces, A/C and hot water tank for many years. They are very experienced and indeed reliable.
This summer I had another Winnipeg company to my home for a plumbing issue. They offered to complete an inspection on my A/C as they were expanding into the HVAC service. This company told me that my A/C coils were leaking and they would fry my furnace if I did not spend $**** to replace the coils. I did NOT take their advice....
Instead I called Reliable. Reliable was able to find a clog in the line and fixed the issue for a little over $***. Paul the service tech was prompt, friendly and very thorough. He explained everything to me and even followed up twice in the next few days to ensure the problem was resolved. I will only deal with Reliable Heating and A/C for all future service calls.Review fromVee C
