I paid a technician to look at my furnace as it was not heating consistently. They turned it off without checking to see if there was a carbon monoxide leak. When I called them to ask them come back for the second time to check the levels they refused.
I didn’t feel safe with not knowing if there was a leak.

Shorty's Plumbing & Heating takes the safety and welfare of our clients extremely seriously. When it comes to carbon monoxide, every precaution MUST be taken and there are requirements set forth by Manitoba Hydro in situations such as these. When equipment has visible cracks in the heat exchanger (and yours had several) we are required by law to shut the equipment down which is what we did. The danger present when equipment is in such a state is a cause for immediate concern and action. Supplemental heaters were offered and refused and a quote was left should you wish to upgrade your equipment, given the age. There is no known "safe" level of carbon monoxide in the home and this is exactly why we are directed to shut the offending equipment down, not to test for levels. Even the smallest amount of carbon monoxide can be deadly which must be avoided.

Amazing workmanship! Jeff made sure that my experience would be a good one. I needed 2 sump pumps installed AND a drain from one sump pump to the main line in the finished side of my basement. Pricing was reasonable and I took my time between the installation of the sump pumps and the main drain pipe. Hence, I was totally prepared for the extensive work. I also hired them for smaller jobs and I received the same kind of workmanship each time. Let us just say that out of all the plumbers who I have hired in the past, they will remain in my past.
