In June 2024 I hired Flow-Rite Eavestrough / Doug ******** to complete soffit, fascia, and eavestrough work on my home. It took them nearly two months to complete the work and not to the specifications that had been previously laid out. The company does not respond to phone calls or other communication. They have no ******* to conduct proper scheduling or follow deadlines. They work irregular hours, show up unannounced for short durations at a time, leave tools out, and never clean up the worksite. The amount of metal shards (trim) and screws left around the property and in my pool was completely unprofessional. I requested an invoice and receipts but never received any written correspondence. The work was finally completed but the backyard downspout was put on the side of the house I specifically told them not to as I was concerned about drainage issues. This was not immediately covered under their "lifetime warranty" **** ********** ********* ******* **** **** ***** ******** **************. I was hoping to be done with this company but, as expected, the drainage issues were apparent in spring as the snow melted. I contacted Doug and it is the same old story. **** ********* *** **** never follows up and starts dodging my calls. I would like to be refunded $***, the cost of repairs/alterations to be conducted by another company. I don't want anyone from Flow-Rite near my property ever again.Initial Complaint

The complaint I have is about one Doug *********. The ad in the flyer I answered calls his business ****** **** *************** with the 'phone number ************, but when I paid him it was to **** **** *****, same phone number. I first hired him in the Fall to fix a couple of eavestroughts, and he put in gutter guards,****** wasn't able to fix the worst ones. The wood was too badly rotten. I paid him for that job, $**** in cash. Since I was worried about the remaining two, and winter was fast approaching, I suggested he prepare replacement boards on the ground, placing them on the house after they were painted. He said instead of painting them, he would use fascia. That seemed fine to me. He asked for $***. And I transferred him a $*** deposit through my bank. That was on Nov.21st. Since then, although promising several times to come and do the work, he hasn't. And he no longer responds to calls and texts or emails. Of course its impossible now. A few weeks back I suggested he return the deposit, and we would renegotiate in the Spring. Still he hasn't responded. I'm very disappointed that two of my eavestroughts don't clear water, but instead dump it where it does more damage, I'm resigned to put up with it as there's nothing I can do anymore this year. On Thursday, October 20, I contacted ******* ***** to clean my covered gutters **** ******* ********** ** *** ******* ****** * ******** ********** I made that request clear in the phone conversation that morning and the person, Doug said he would come that same day. The doorbell rang, Doug and a second person (already on the roof) told me the eaves roughing "was a real mess" and "needed to be fixed". He said the cleaning fee would be waved , with fixing the problem . The covers and eaves were done a couple of years earlier by ******* ******* and, I had no drainage problems. After seeing the eaves in front yard removed and hearing the application of work (total 40 mins)), Doug presented me with a bill for the amount of $******* for the supply and installation of gutter guards. No written or verbal quote or estimate given prior to the work. they also took the gutter convers with them and di not ask if they could do so. In fact, I never gave verbal permission to change them. I was shocked at the price, and he pointed out he gave me a senior's discount. * ** * ****** *** * ****** ***** *** * ****** ** ** ************ I called him after an hour *** ****** **** * **** ***** ********* ** and he became upset with me and suggested I should have asked first . Is it not proper business practice to quote a price and get permission for work first? he offered to come back on Friday October 29, 2022 with half the amount and I could pay it back the next month if that would help. "I'm a flexible guy", he told me. I said no that doesn't help and its not the point. ** ******* ****** ** **************. He insinuated that we discussed the fee but we did not! I simply don't have that money to have spent in eaves cleaning. I would not have approved the work. I know eave cleaning costs between ** to ****** at most. On June 3rd I paid $***** to Flow Rite to install gutter guards for our eavestroughs. They said this was a down payment for their services. They said they were busy and would be in contact. We have made numerous attempts to call them, but their mailbox is full. ************************ *******************************************************************************************Business Response

August 4, 2022-Doug came to our house unannounced yesterday and between then and today installed our gutter system. As far as we are concerned, our business with him is finished.
