Please read every bit of small print and don't believe what you are told. We were assured, numerous times by two sales staff, that our extended warranty was 200000 km and 10 years from the date of purchase. We purchased the vehicle at 133000 km. I travel a lot for work and reached 200000 within a year and a half. Of course at 210 the motor went and we were shocked to find out we had no coverage. Shocked. We paid $4200 for a warranty for 18 months. The years started at 0 but the km started at 133000 for $4200. Figure that one out. ReCar admitted to nothing. Nothing at all. For a "goodwill gesture" they paid the labor for the repair, $1000 of the $7000. Thanks ReCar. They soaked me with a smile.
I might also add that after I first posted this review I received phone calls, text and emails from ReCar within an hour that were not kind in nature. This is after weeks of trying to get a response and help from them.
Lastly, please know that we repetitively spoke to our salesman about the warranty and were assured over and over that it was from 0km upon purchase. The manager that I signed with spoke nothing of the warranty but simply had me sign the paperwork. Agreed I should have educated myself better but I believe my salesperson after an extended talk with him about the warranty and I trusted his assurance. My mistake. As I stated at the start, proceed with caution.

Hi Elizabeth, we are sorry you feel that you had a poor experience. We understand that you misunderstood the Warranty contract that you signed with us. The warranty you purchased (which is our most popular warranty by far) gives the customer 10 years of coverage from the date of purchase or up to 200,000km maximum on the odometer as we understand every customers driving habits are different and vary by customer. We go over all the paperwork with each customer verbally and in writing to ensure the customer fully understands the document that they are signing as these are all legal documents and contracts for the bank. We also understand that when a customer signs a contract, it would be assumed that the signature signifies the agreement and understands the terms and conditions of the Warranty Agreement. Because you misunderstood the warranty and purchased a vehicle from us, we graciously good-willed to cover the labour costs of the engine replacement 18 months after purchase and after you drove an additional 77,000km on the vehicle since taking ownership. We feel that we have made a full and fair attempt to help resolve your concerns. We sincerely apologize that we were not able to satisfy you with this resolution.

      Respectfully,
      Management
