  Following the paving of my neighbor's driveway in early july 2023, i filed a complaint by e-mail on 10 july to Sewells's paving and ******** ********* stating that the slope of the entire driveway is such that all the rainfall on the driveway (and from the roof) will end up on my lawn, within 3 feet of my house which is unacceptable. Furthermore, halfway down the driveway, the slope is higher so that no water drainage is steered towards the street and ends up on my lawn as well. (Numerous pictures and videos are available to PROVE this, and more will be taken when heavy rains will occur). Since no reply, i phoned Mr. ********* on july 18 who said he talked to the crew and was assured the work was correct. I offered to meet with a company rep to discuss possible solutions to the problem, far less expensive than re-paving (patio border stones come to mind), which could be acceptable to the coy, my neighbor and myself but still no reply.

  Dear Mr. *********,

  We were hired by your neighbour to pave his driveway. We completed the job the way it was supposed to be done and our customer is happy. Furthermore, you live on a hill and your home is downhill from your neighbour's. When it rains, some of the water runs to the street and some runs downhill. We can not make water run uphill. Respectfully, your issues are with your neighbour. Our customer is happy with the work we completed.

  Since my street and house is downhill from my neighbor, how come all other driveways up, down AND across the street do NOT drain on the downhill neighbor; only yours do, and i agree with you that you "cannot make the water run uphill", DUH!!. The problem was caused by improper laying the ashphalt lower in the ground (less crushstone or deeper digging), and sloping the entire surface towards my property, including an OBVIOUS big bump two-thirds of the way down, such that all drainage including half his roof, end up on my property, and none is steered in the street. Would gladly offer you and/or a civil court judge several revealing pix/videos while raining, to prove it. (cannot upload them now, due to extensive memory required). Short of re-paving, I offered you inexpensive solutions (come see my driveway), otherwise leaving me no choice but to pursue other much more expensive alternatives in the near future.
