On July 12 2024, I financed a 2016 sea-doo through Simpson Motors Ltd in Saint John. On July 17 2024, I put it in the water for the first time, where within 45 minutes the machine broke down. Knowing it was nothing I would have done, I got in contact with Simpson Motors hoping they could fix it under warranty, they told me to bring it in the next day to look at it so I did. On July 23 2024, they called me, telling me it was rider error and refused to listen to me while trying to explain that it wasn’t possible. After riding sea-doos for over 10 years, I consider myself an experienced rider and nothing I did would have caused the damage that occurred. The wear ring and impeller on the seadoo were both damaged to the point where they would need to be replaced. When talking to the mechanic I asked about the parts mentioned, where he told me that both the wear ring and impeller were brand new when they serviced it before my purchase of it. When I mentioned maybe the parts were installed incorrectly, they became defensive and refused to cooperate with me, at which point I decided to take the machine elsewhere for a second opinion. I took the machine to *** ***** ***** in Saint John, where they noticed rust on the impeller, indicating it was not brand new within the 1.5 weeks since I purchased it. After inspecting it further, they mentioned it was in much worse shape than Simpson Motors led me to believe. There was large gouge on the bottom, indicating it had hit a large rock, which while on the stands at Simpson Motors was not visible. Other parts were corroded on the machine also, indicating it was most likely a salt water machine at some point before being brought to Canada by Simpson Motors. None of this was disclosed to me, I am currently awaiting an inspection write-up from the mechanic at *** ***** ***** which I will gladly share when it is available to me. I’m seeking a full refund
