  BBB Serving the Atlantic Provinces has concluded an
  Investigation into the status of Truststone Paving /Trustone Paving Ltd. The
  Investigation was prompted by several phone inquiries, 2 formal complaints, and
  one negative customer review against Truststone Paving/Trustone Paving Ltd. After
  multiple attempts to contact this business via email, postal mail & via
  phone, we were unable to contact the business. The business phone number listed
  is directed to a call center that states they will pass the message along to
  the business. The business has an address listed on their website that a
  separate business is located. Truststone Paving /Trustone Paving Ltd is
  reported for knocking on doors in communities and offering a discount on paving
  services, including a 5-year work guarantee warranty. Truststone Paving /Trustone
  Paving Ltd. then asks for cash payment from the consumers. Shortly after the
  work is completed, the asphalt starts deteriorating, when the consumer tries to
  contact Truststone Paving /Trustone Paving Ltd to express their concerns, there
  is no response received. Consumers also report various damage to areas
  surrounding their home.

  • Be wary of unsolicited contractors who knock on your door offering services, especially if they only accept cash and/or require a large down payment.
  • Do not make on-the-spot decisions about hiring a contractor.
  • Select a reputable company and do your research.
  • Obtain a detailed, written contract.
  • Consider shopping around and obtaining detailed estimates.
  • Never feel pressured to commit on the spot and don’t provide full payment for work that has not begun.
  • Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
