    My credit report shows a collection item that occurred 5 years ago with ALARM GUARD company and i paid this item 5 years ago. A salesman from Alarm Guard sold me a security alarm system and told me that I could move it on my next move if I wanted to but Alarm Guard denied that and it did not show up on my contract so I told them that their salesman had lied and I told them I would not pay them. After I sold the house they said they would sent it to collection. I paid them off right way but it was too late and now I realize it shows up on my credit report and I was denied an apartment application because of that collection. What can I do to have it removed from my credit report?
