I have had Anthony Insurance for about 10-12 years. My home flooded last month with the rain storm we had after we had 70 cm of snow. My home along with dozens if not hundreds other homes flooded that night. I have the Enhanced water package with Anthony, the highest water package you can get and I am still being denied coverage due to “ground water” something they don’t even cover apparently. So for anyone out there looking for home insurance DO NOT go with Anthony, especially since they don’t cover ground water and water claims are the highest claims happening now.

The claim was reported March 12, 2024, contact was made with
by the adjuster and a site inspection with our contractor were both completed
    March 13, 2024.

The customer’s claim was the result of a series of severe
weather events. The area where the insured resides received 72.2 cm of snow
between March 7, 2024, and March 9, 2024. Then, the area was hit with a
rainstorm on March 11, 2024, and March 12, 2024, and the area received 31.6 mm
of rain. There was widespread flooding.

As a result of the rainstorm, the customers basement sustained water damage.
Because of the heavy rain and fast melting snow, ground water entered causing
water damage in the basement. The water that entered was clear indicating it
was not entering because of a back up from a sewer, septic system or drain.
There was no evidence of a sewer back up, as per the definition in the policy,
    having occurred.

It was confirmed that because of the rapid snowmelt and of the rainfall, the
ground became saturated with water. The cut-out area in their basement floor
allowed for ground water to seep into the home as it is open to the ground.

The policy excludes losses caused by ground water. The customer expressed that
they believed this loss to have been caused by a sewer back up, however, the
policy also specifies that if a loss is caused by concurrent causes, for
example a sewer backup and ground water, the loss will be excluded.

We paid a refundable deductible to ******* in October 2022 to have our car repaired after another driver struck it while it was unoccupied. The deductible was to be refunded back to us, since other driver was deemed to be at fault (obviously). We are still waiting on the deductible from *******, despite repeated phone calls and assurances from ******* that it would be refunded to us. It's been 3 months now (Jan 30, 23) and nothing from *******
