On June 13 2022, BBB attempted to send correspondence to John Cabot Building, 10 Barters Hill St. John's, NL A1C 6M1. Our mail was returned as undeliverable from this address. We were unsuccessful in locating a new address, resulting in BBB not having complete and current information. If you have information that would assist your BBB in developing a report, please speak with a BBB Marketplace Counsellor

BBB Serving the Atlantic Provinces has concluded an Investigation into the status of Cedar Energy LLC and is satisfied by the results of our investigations that this is not a legitimate business.

The Investigation was prompted by couple of email inquiries which were received from overseas against Cedar Energy LLC.  After multiple attempts to contact this business via postal mail, email & via phone, we were unable to contact the business. The business is not listed on the NL Joint Stock Registry.

The business is using an address of a commercial tower, without mentioning the suite number and the postal code.

The business issues offer letters with attractive salary and benefits and promises employment targeting foreign workers. The catch is to retrieve their person information and ask for some money upfront for some training or certifications required for the job.

Before you accept a job offer, and certainly before you pay for one, take these steps to protect yourself from job scams:

    Do an online search
    - Look up the name of the company or the person who’s hiring you, plus the words “scam,” “review,” or “complaint.” You might find out they’ve scammed other people.

Talk to someone you trust -  Describe the offer to them. What do they think? This also helps give you vital time to think about the offer.

Don't pay for the promise of a job - Legitimate employers, including the federal government, will never ask you to pay to get a job. Anyone who does is a scammer.

Never bank on a “cleared” check - No legitimate potential employer will ever send you a check and then tell you to send on part of the money, or buy gift cards with it. That’s a fake check scam. The check will bounce, and the bank will want you to repay the amount of the fake check.

Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic.
