Stayed here for out of province work on the fire sites. Checked out after 5 days and went to work and was called later saying my damage deposit wasn't to be refunded as they said I put a hole in the wall and broke a chair. I am a respectfull guy and never damaged anything, I slept there and went to work...that's all. I went to the motel before my flight home and asked to see what damage they were talking about. Crack in a chair leg and chipped drywall (not a hole as implied) on a corner ..that I did not do and was improperly done anyway (no proper corner bead). Went outside and checked my credit card, only to see they charged my card another $500 in addition to the damage deposit I approved ($250) for the chair, which was not authorized by myself. Went and asked who authorized this charge and they said the owner. Took a photo of the chair and later told them that it appeared someone had repaired the leg previously, as a plug was present. Still wouldnt return my money..very upset. And why would I be responsible for a chair leg that cracks, faulty chair, but they didn't care. Told I couldn't talk to the Manger or owner before I left for my flight home. Called the manager the next day and manager said owner was I inspecting the room Monday. Recieved a call Monday saying they were refunding my $500 charge, but no explanation, and said they are still keeping my $250 damage deposit...again for something I absolutely did not do and was minor anyway...typical wear and tear in my opinion and it wasn't even done properly anyway. I also explained I never even noticed the damaged corner, it was so minor...they said it wasn't there before I stayed, which is an outright lie. Help as it is the principal that they can't just charge peoples credit cards when and for amounts they feel like, especially when a respectful business person didn't do any damage. Please help...very bad business practice and charging my card without authorization seems criminal.

June 6-7th 2023 I booked a nights stay at stardust motel bedford highway . They ended up keeping my damage deposit with no damage done to the room . They are unprofessional in the booking process and we’re quite ignorant during my whole stay . Basically arguing with me over simple questions anyone would have after spending 400+ dollars on something they are not professional I’m not even sure how they are open with the amount of fraud going on at this place . The reviews on google tell the truth .
