  In 2018 I hired the owner to reshingle my roof (20 year architectural). He finished within a week for a 1,600 sq" house. After the work, he started aggressively to demand payment.
  The year 2022 was when I started noticing the water damage. I've had two contractors examine the work and determine that it was a faulty install. Faulty = improper spacing and flashing. Therefore I'm not covered by insurance. As such I'm facing considerable repair and renovation costs.
  I contacted Derek and offered him the opportunity to repair the work. He dismissive reply was, "I don't know what to tell you, Bud."

  I'm very sorry you felt that we were contacting you aggressively. I have taken the time to review our emails and can kindly supply you with the communication between your wife Mary and myself. At no point were we aggressive.
  We state clearly on our quotes and invoice the follow "Quotation prepared by: ***** ****** Any unforeseen issues are not included in this quote and will be discussed and charged accordingly. 40% down is required the day we start, remainder paid upon completion unless discussed and agreed otherwise. Any payment that exceeds 7 days passed invoice date will be charged 10% interest every 7 days until amount is paid in full.
  When excepting this quote, you agree to the terms and conditions listed.
  We started your roof without a deposit. Invoice was sent Aug 29th. You then sent part of the deposit amount on 2500 Aug 30 and 856 Aug 31.
  I sent a confirmation email Aug 31 and asked when remainder would be paid.
  Mary told us you would contact us with arrangements to pay the rest.
  Sept 5 I sent another reminder and said 10% would be added unless arrangements were made. Mary apologized and made the arrangements.
  I did my end of the job. Gave you the benefit of doubt and paid for your materials out of my pocket. With hope you would be honest and pay your bill. When you only sent deposit amount 2 days after the job was complete. Couldn't be bothered to respectifuly inform us when you would pay the rest of the bill for the completed work. Yes we will continue to check up. If that's what you found aggressive. Next time hold up your end of the agreement.
  The roof was completed 4 years before you started having leaks. Chances are the shingling job was not the problem or it would have leaked alot sooner.
  We did not get any phone calls or emails from you when you noticed the leaking and can not be responsible for the damages. As you called other contractors first.
  Sorry you have frustrations but you don't need to bash our small business
