JPD Movers moved my belongings from their warehouse in Bedford (where they had been stored for almost 2 years) to a house about 1 1/2 hours away on July 22, 2022. When the movers moved my piano, a ****** U1, into the house, I noticed a large chip just to the side of the keyboard. I asked the chap how to make a claim and he said to send photos of damages to the office assistant. I paid the bill of 2639.25 on July 22. I contacted the office assistant on July 28 and she said the owner would call me. Having waited for a callback for over a week, I called again on August 9. She said the owner would call me on August 10. I have not heard from him. I sent numerous photos of the damage to the piano and piano stool (scratches and abrasions) as well as the damage to several other pieces of furniture (gouges). I paid the bill in good faith and now I expect the company to act in good faith. When I contacted the owner on the first move, I told him several times that the piano was in pristine shape and I wanted it undamaged and he assured me the movers were trained to move pianos. To replace it today would cost over 15,000. I was sent an email confirming their replacement insurance so get on with processing the claim. I want the piano and piano stool repaired by *** ***** who are qualified to repair them at an estimate of 2000 + tax ( an estimate since they have only seen photos). I want the other furniture either repaired or compensation given for the damage.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 17699620, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I would like to clarify that I had emailed the company on July 28, stating that I had damage to my goods that I wanted to report. Velma relied saying **** would call me when he was back on August 1. I spoke with Velma on August 9 and didn't hear from **** so I put the complaint in to the BBB on August 10. I had an email from **** on August 13 and spoke with him on August 17 when I returned home from Halifax. At that point, he said that he wanted to come and see the damage to the piano for himself.

*******, his business partner, will be accompanying **** when they come to look at the piano and other items.
