    Business Response

    Date: 22/06/2023

    Good afternoon,

Since March 12th, 2023 We have been in contact with this customer - we needed an actual proof of loss as the customer was only providing us with the attached homemade invoices on March 17, 2023. The first one with online brand new parts from Honda and another one that he made himself - the car was being bought for scraps - he told them at the auction that would be fine as the car is in pretty bad shape anyhow. When he picked the car up, we were informed by ****** on March 12, 2023 that he lost $400 dollars due to the damage in his scrap sale - all fair - we first asked for proof of loss and he sent along the homemade invoices On March 17 2023, and claimed that the original $400 was just an estimate and that since his grandfather was a retired insurance appraiser and he taught him some things and that there would be an additional cost for hood repair at $90 so he would settle for $460.

As stated above, we asked for an initial price from the scrap yard prior to the damages to prove he actually lost anything, and he then claimed he would have to pay a lot more to get it on the road and would settle for $400. This car was never going on the road. All we have asked, is that ****** could show us actual proof of loss as requested for the amount he is asking for. We then said we would pay out $200 even without the actual proof, but if he was requesting more we would need proof of loss.

****** replied on March 21st, 2023 stating he would get the scrap yard to write a letter stating how much money he was supposed to get. We have not received anything to date.

The next email from ****** on March 23 2023 stated that he has contacted the company that bought the car from, and that they are going to see what they can do and that he had surgery done and he is resting and may be a few days to let us know what the next steps would be and that is the last we have heard from him.

I can forward all of the correspondence with him at your request.

    Thank you for your time.

I am rejecting this response because:
I have give them proof and they were not to return my emails it’s doesn’t matter if I was scrapping it, fixing it up they backed it to my car and they are responsible for paying the damages that was done no matter what I was going to do with the car I am trying to be nice here I’ll I is my money back not $200 I am fine filing a police report as it was technically a hit and run as no one was notified at the time
