I'm with weirs refrigeration for my heat pump.
I had accidentally pressed a button that put my pump on a weekly timer, so my heat pump wasn't turning on. I'm covered under warranty.
I called weirs refrigeration and they gave me the option to have them drive from digby and I pay the gas cost, or wait until they're near me. I opted for the near me option. They traveled from saulnierville (MAYBE 7 Km away from me) and when they got here, all he did was press a button turning off the weekly timer and I just got a bill for $226 for some one pressing a button and traveling very close to me and weirs is telling me the bill is legit. I'm being charged 30 bucks for gas and 2 hours of labor. He was here for 5 min max.

Good morning, This reply is to review # 54672. We got a call from ******* regarding his heat pump not working. his heat pump does have warranty. He was told if the problem was something set wrong by him, dirty filters or plugged drain that it wasn't warranty and he would be charged. Warranty also doesn't cover travel. This is all in the warranty papers that was left with him.We also told him we would set it up so we would be in the area to other customers and split the travel. We told him what day we would be the area and the technican would call him. He called in the morning and he didn't answer the phone. He called back at 1 o'clock after we had left the area. He insisted that the tech come back so he did. The tech was in the house for probably 5 minutes and changed a timer setting that ******* had turned on so the heat pump wouldn't run. That isn't warranty. The invoice was for 2 hours labour at $80 and 35 kms at $1. The kms should have been more because we had to turn in Digby and go back to the other side of Meteghan. He called after receiving the invoice and said there shouldn't be a charge because it was under warranty. He was explained to again it wasn't warranty. So then he said we could only charge for the time the tech was in the house. The tech is paid to to drive there and back. He said he wasn't paying the invoice. We did send a credit for the the labour portion and just charged him for the travel. When we emailed him the credit we asked him to give us a call about the invoice and the BBB complaint. He has never responded. We also went to his house a few months back about water dripping from the heat pump. Bugs had got up in the drain line and plugged it off. We sent him an invoice that he didn't want to pay because he said it was warranty. bugs in the drain isn't a fault of the heat pump. Also while the tech was there to clean the drain, he was bitten by his dog on his leg. It cut his leg so he went to emergency dept and set for 4 hours to get a tetanus shot and bandage. We paid him to sit there. He is using a BBB complaint to get out of paying his invoice. We have a A plus rating with BBB and would like to keep that way, so we gave him the credit. The next time he calls for service we will not be going. Sorry for the long rant. Have a good day.
