Early January 2025, we purchased a Chesterfield and Loveseat Through Berry Furniture, Enfield Nova Scotia Store. The Chesterfield was in stock , the Loveseat was on backorder. Near the end of February 2025, I received a phone call from Berry Furniture and was notified that due to the Tariff imposed between the USA and Canada, that ****** Furniture will not be shipping my Loverseat to me and I would be able to get a refund for the cost of the Loverseat.
My wife and I went to Berry Furniture to see if there was a Loveseat that would match the Chesterfield and there was not. As we had invested in recent renovations to our home, we wanted matching furniture. Berry Furniture informed me that the Chesterfield was not able to be returned as it was in our home for 2 months.
I am left in the middle where ****** Furniture had 2 months to delivery my Loveseat and did not while making a decision that they will not do so in the future either even though by accepting my money, they make a commitment to do so, also they are refusing to accept return of the chesterfield and provide me with a full refund so that my wife and I can decorate our home with the matching furniture that we had planned on doing

Berry's Furniture understands the frustration of the customer, and we share the same frustration we sold the product in good faith having no idea that the loveseat we all of a sudden be effected by the current trade war situation.   The product is not longer even being manufactured in any of the 20 ****** Furniture Manufacturing plants.    I did have a conversation today with ****** Furniture, and because of this hardship they are willing to offer a 25 percent discount off the sofa that was purchased.    Berry's Furniture is not trying to be unreasonable as we truly do strive for customer satisfaction.

    Thank you!

I am rejecting this response because:

I do not feel that this is a fair settlement for the following reasons.

The cost of a similar product has increased by more that this value due to the changing economic and international trade situation, especially taking into account the Boxing Day Specials period when I purchased. By accepting this settlement, I am left with half of a furniture set that I intended to have and no way to obtain a matching piece. Either I mix and match if possible or I have to deal with getting rid of a piece of furniture that is only a few months old and go through the search process again. I have looked at furniture stores and prices have increased to a point that the refund I am being offered is basically cancelled out. ****** Furniture through Berry Furniture had over 2 months from my purchase date of 27 Dec 2024 to end of February when I was notified that ****** would not honor this purchase and provide me with the Loveseat I ordered and Paid for.
