    "Technician" came to diagnose problem with refrigerator (not holding temperature at proper level). He removed panel on the bottom, felt inside, declared it was hot and that the compressor was broken. It would be "thousands" to repair and better to buy a new refrigerator. I called a second appliance repair person for a second opinion. He did an in-depth review and determined that the fan and inverter were broken and could be replaced for much less than a new refrigerator. All is repaired and working. Max Appliance took $100 for doing nothing. I am not even sure that the man had any qualification for refrigerator repair.

    We had a noise in our freezer, we contacted Max Appliance Repair in Halifax. Their technician came and did the necessary repair. He had to remove the two drawers. After he left, we discovered that top drawer did not close quite as easily as before but did close. We then went away for about three weeks. When we returned, we realized that sometimes the drawer was not completely closing or was popping open.
    I called Max Appliance to request that someone come to deal with this problem caused by the technician. I was told by the receptionist that we would have to pay for the call because this was a "new problem!". On the receipt it says, "90-day warranty" and we believed that this problem was caused by the technician so we felt that the problem should be covered by warranty.
    I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. The receptionist said that she would pass on the information and that someone would call me back. A week later I again called and requested (by voice mail) a phone call from a supervisor/manager. After waiting almost two weeks to hear from the company, we called another appliance service company to come in to fix the problem.
    Apparently when the Max technician replaced the drawer, he did not reset the lock on the drawer. The new technician flipped this lock (less than five minutes) and now the drawer is working correctly.
    I then sent a message through the company’s website asking for a phone call or response to the message to ask them to honour their warrantee – did not receive a call or email so sent another request – still no response!
    It is not the repair work done by this company that we are unhappy with. I’m sure if the technician had the opportunity to return, he would have realized his mistake and been able to correct it very quickly and we would have been happy customers.
    It is the management of this company that we are unhappy with. Instead of dealing with our problem they have just ignored us and refuse to even communicate with us.
