I had Connie prepare the T3 trust return for my mother's estate. While preparing the return, we had communications about the date of the return and I informed her that the prior year T3 Trust return (2022) was for 1/1/2022 through 12/31/2022 and that the return she was filing was for 2023.
The documents were prepared and submitted electronically by Connie to Revenue Canada. However, the dates she chose were incorrect. For some reason, she chose to use 1/1/2023 through 11/4/2023. This partial year resulted in late charges and penalties being assessed by Revenue Canada.
My request was for her to correct the dates and send them to Revenue Canada so the penalties and late charges would be removed, however, she has chosen to completely ignore the issue and to completely stop responding to emails. This is completely unprofessional.

This is a very busy time of the year and there are days I never get a chance to see or respond to emails. This is a tax preparation office and April is the busiest month. When I had a chance to deal with the mails, I responded are adjusted the return. No one ignored anything and the situation was dealt with.
