If I could give ******** a -100 that would be my rating. We rented two cars from Dublin Airport, August 2023. I declined insurance because I'm fully covered by my ******** ******* card. The agent said without a written letter from ******** ******* confirming coverage we would be required to take out full coverage on the rental cars. After getting home, I noticed the charge to my card was $2335.42. ****** had quoted $1364.80. After inspecting the itemized receipt that ******** had emailed us, we noticed both cars were charged for 10 days, when we only rented them for 9. We also noticed a charge for "Premium" insurance at $61/day for 10 days. I called Customer Service, the agent immediately acknowledged the overcharges. She confirmed we only rented the cars for 9 days and explained that the rental agent at Dublin Airport should have offered us (2) insurance options – either $61/day for a $200 credit card hold or $31/day for a $2500 credit card hold. She asked me to give her a few days to work with the ******** DUB branch manager to get the charges reversed. I didn't hear back, called Customer Service again, and their position had changed to "you signed the agreement and won't be getting money back." After disputing the extra $461 charges with **** they issued a credit, however, ******** sent **** the signed rental agreement and now the refund has been reversed. I SIGNED THE CONTRACT BECAUSE I WAS NOT AWARE THERE WERE ANY OTHER INSURANCE OPTIONS. THE FTC CALLS THIS DECEPTION BY NONDISCLOSURE. Go to Europcar's ******** page or anywhere they are reviewed online to see THOUSANDS of negative posts and reviews from customers with the exact same complaints. ******** is stealing money from their customers by not telling us about lesser cost insurance options and also charging for extra days, hoping customers don't notice. THESE UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES MUST BE STOPPED!
