Northern rural net cut off our home phone with notice or justification. All payments are current and no outstanding monies owed. We had both home phone and internet with them until the past several months when we asked to retain only phone and not internet since we bought starlink.no issues according to them.wgen I called on my cell ( no cell service at home so had to drive 10 minutes to hotspot ergo the priority need for home phone) I pay $33.90 monthly for phone service. I am concerned that this company will not email ( no phone for them to call us obviously) with a response since they have not responded to issues in the past. We are currently a victim to them with no recourse to get help. We need our phone for emergencies and more importantly for work. Please help asap to get this company to connect with us and have our phone back

We live in a rural community and have trouble getting internet so we signed up with ****** ****** at ********* *******. We used his services for a few years, and then the service became spotty and there were a lot of days where we couldn't hook up to the internet but the automatic payments were still coming out of my husband's bank account, so we decided to move to ******** which we heard was more realiable. Unbeknown to us, Mr. ****** had transfered ownership of his company to Northren Rural Net. We never got any notice from him, or from the new company that this was taking place and the bills were still under the name of ********* *******. It turns out some of his customers were informed through e-mail, but a lot like us were not. We then had to get the number from a neighbour who was informed of the switch so we could phone them. Northern Rural Net accepted that we were leaving, but wanted another months payment of then 127.65 as a cancellation fee. We put a stop cheque on that amount because we paid for the month used. Not only this, but we had no contract with ****** ****** that I know of, and thus no contract with Northern Rural Net. We tried to explain all this to them but to no avail. They are now requiring $135.48 as of December 7, 2023 through a collection agency. As there were no contracts signed, and we paid up for the time we used, I would like you to put this matter to rest and have them stop harrassing us. Thank you.
