    Got a call from them arranging appointment. Two reminders the night before. Drove 2 and a half hours to get there for 8 am they called after 9 am and canceled. Would not recommend them. No respect for your time.

    After research I called Harris Plumbing noting the endorsements from ********** and ******** in order to have a new jet pump installed for the cottage water supply. It took 7 wks from initial call to completion of the work. The job was a 3 to 4 hour job that took 8 due it to mismanagement. I never was provided with the promised detailed work order and the final invoice was limited in cost disclosure. The average cost of a 3/4 hp jet pump is $650, but my final invoice was $2508 + hst. Yes, I gave them the approval to proceed while on-site for this cost, because of time lapse without water service and the pending arrival of family for vacation. I submitted a detailed chronology of my experience to the company July 6th and as yet have received no response of any kind. My experience with this company has been unacceptable ******************. The web site makes a lot of promises but the company does not deliver on those promises. RH

    It is a dated response, and easily verifiable that Mr. ******* did indeed receive a response from Harris Plumbing.

    "Hello *****, thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.

    We have reviewed your file and checked into the details that you have provided in your review and it seems we did get upfront approval for the pricing as you signed off before the work began and signed off again upon completion of the work.
    As for the amount of time the work took, you should be pleased to know that we actually don't charge per hour, but by job. Regardless of how long the work took you would have been charged the same whether it was only 3 hours, or the full 8. As we do this type of work very frequently, we are aware that this work may take a full day which is why your call was booked accordingly with an 8 hour slot.
    As for the pricing, we are sorry you don't see the value in the work we performed. Our plumbers go through extensive training and schooling to gain the knowledge and expertise in order to diagnose and provide the required services. The pricing that we provide not only includes the cost for the equipment, as well as the installation and everything it entails (specific example, removing other galvanized fittings on your old pump), but also the warranty we provide, and a portion of our overhead costs to continue to provide the unequivocal service that we do, and have since 1974.
    The plumber who attended also offered our Advantage Plan to you, to extend any warranties and provide a discounted rate for service, and you had declined. The attending plumber also included the new gauge and brass plug at no charge to you. You were notified that the valve between the pump and pressure tank had a blown seal in it that could have lead to further problems and the plumber removed them for you at no charge.

    I would note that 3 appointments were needed over 7 weeks to finally get the work done. Yes, I accepted the work order at the final appointment. I had been without water service for this time and had family arriving for their vacation that weekend. At no time over the course of that 7 weeks did Harris provide me with an advance copy of a work order for review/acceptance, as their web site commits to doing. I was forced out of options and needed it done. Am I "pleased" Harris did not charge by the hour. I effectively paid the current market hourly rate in the Harris price since the job did take 8 hours due to the fact the initial pump they installed was defective and the plumber had to return to Barrie to get a second one. Without that calamity the job would have been done in 3/4 hours, which would effectively make the Harris fee double the market rate. Yes, the plumber did several small extras, which I did appreciate. That said, any way I look at this set of circumstances i.e. service or pricing, I come up seriously disappointed in this ********** and ******** approved company, and, despite my providing a chronology by email to the company 3 weeks prior to filing my reviews no one from Harris Plumbing made any attempt to reach out.
