On August 8, 2022 I took my car to Automotion to fix a rear left wheel barring on my 2017 **** Explorer, which I had owned since new and have always serviced at the dealership under warranty. This 2 hour job turned into a 2 days job as the mechanic (***) told me he had troubles removing my wheel barring because he didn't have the proper tools and put my car up on the wrong side of the hoist. My car only had 98K on it and had never any work done on this wheel before. In February 2024 the same wheel barring broke again, which was under warranty but I live in *********** and could not drive back to this same mechanic 350K away so I went to my local mechanic who removed the wheel barring and saw the damage that *** from Automotion did to my spindle, he chiseled away chunks of steel from it to the point that the mechanic could not replace the wheel barring only, he had to purchase and replace a new spindle first , not to mention he also had to purchase and install a back break cover which he saw was missing and never put back on my car as well as an ABS sensor which was not properly attached. This now cost me ******* to fix, not the ******************************* to fix the wheel barring. I have emailed *** at Automotion that I now discovered the damage he inflicted on my vehicle hoping I won't find out. I told him he should reimburse me for the parts he damaged while fixing my wheel barring 15 months ago, he denied doing the damage and refused to cover the expense. No other mechanic had worked on my car before him, the part was original to the vehicle, hence he was the only one who could have done this, what was suppose to be a routine repair of a wheel barring costed me ******* for the wheel barring, spindle, back break cover and ABS sensor. I have emails attached that I sent to *** requesting him to cover the cost of the spindle, back break cover and ABS sensor. I also have pictures of the damaged spindle and invoices from the repairs. He did not respond to me.
