    I had hired **** from A-1 to complete work inside our house. He had originally sent me a quote via text message (see attached screenshot), I agreed upon total price, **** and son completed 1/3 of the work and didn’t install the correct switches as requested. **** had then completely ghosted us and kept avoiding a revisit to complete the work. He wasn’t replying to messages in a timely manner. We had an agreement for this work to be started and completed between July 2-6 2024. **** and son worked in our house on July 2, performed 1/3 of the work and didn’t come back. Due to non response and our desire to have this work completed in the agreed timeframe we fired A-1 as a contractor on July 17th. We contacted and reported him to the ESA to have his work inspect he left the work he had completed not to code. With ESA inspector I allowed A-1 to come into our home to make everything save and up to code. Upon this final inspection A-1 was to send me a final bill with a copy of the ESA certificate for the work he did perform. Also wanted to mention all the damages **** and son had left behind not repaired. I had to chase him several weeks there after to get a final invoice and copy of the ESA certificate. Final received the last invoice and no ESA CERTIFICATE. Invoice is inaccurate to work performed and he’s now threatening to put a lien on my house if unpaid. I need direction for BBB on this matter.

    I will have my lawyer respond to this post as **** had several untruths in his complaint.

    As for the ESA Certification, **** must have issues retaining information, this certification will not be released until his invoice is paid in full. 
    I never threatened him with a lien on his property, I simply stated that if it is not paid within 45days, I will file a lien on the property. That is my right as a contractor. 
    Also, **** neglected to say, from the original quote, to the first day on the job, he had completely changed the scope of the work. 
    As for any damage, this customer was informed from the first visit, that he was responsible for any repairs as we are not drywaller or painting contractors, again, issues with retaining information. 
    Finally, the ESA inspector told him that his place or family was never in any type of danger. 
    I think that this customer from HELL, just is looking for a reason to not pay the invoice. 
    I will not respond any further, and will not waste any more time with this customer.
