    April 12 2025 received quote from business by e-mail.
    e-mailed back we like to proceed.
    April 17 received a request by e-mail to send a deposit
    April 18 Good Friday, received more e-mails about sending copy of invoice and sending it to a different e-mail address then in company brochure.
    called my bank and the company about some sort of ***** .
    received a call back from company that they had received the money but they had not requested it.
    told that they had their e-mail hacked once in the the past when they did some work for a doctors office/ he had hired an computer guy to fix problem.
    April 24 came in and did the first part of the job( two quotes one for $847.50 second for $3729.00)
    90 % completed, didn't do one light because was not correct lighting fixture.
    received phone call from the owner of the company that I should contact my bank and remove the ***** alert
    phoned them(my bank) told that is his responsiblility with his bank.
    phone the company to inform them one of there outside outlets was sparking and not working.
    told by Bonnie someone should stop by and fix on a day when they where in my area.
    owner called me a week later and told me I have to call the bank about the ***** alert on his e-mail that he can't be paid for any jobs because of what I did, no mention made of fixing outlet.
    phoned them the next day to cancel the second part of the job( full panel replace)
    he asked me" if I wanted an e-transfer back of money owed "I said "no please send a cheque in mail'
    I had another licensed electrician come in and fix the outlet.
    I am still waiting for the $1,000.
    when the original job was done, they drilled into the ceiling, in the basement above the washing machine and laundry tub, wood chips all over, very sloppy( could have covered with a tarp)
    I sent them the deposit because they where an A plus business.
    they could have given customers a heads up that their e-mail was not 100% reliable to communicate with them

     Good Afternoon *******,

     We are very sorry you were unhappy with your service. We did have an email hack and we are very glad you did not fall for the hackers games and did not send the funds to them. We were unaware that our e-mail had been compromised and as a small business it was very concerning for us. We took every step we could to have the issue resolved including enlisting 2 IT professionals for fix the issue. Which has now been resolved. I understand you were concerned regarding the ***** alert but when we spoke with you over the phone you were aware that the funds had gone to the correct location and we offered to send you back the full amount but you said we should hold on to it until the job was completed. 

    The ***** note you had put on us has affected us greatly and continues to affect us to this day. Our other customer can not pay with e-transfer and you are making it very difficult for our small business - we have spoken with our bank several times and you are the only one that can remove the alert. 

    As you decided not to complete the full quoted job, we agreed to send you back the remainder of the funds - a Cheque was mailed May 22, 2025 in the about of $ 1017.00.  If you have not received this please call the office so we can issue a new cheque. 
    A better way to notify us that you did not receive the refund would have been to call us directly.

    I did contact my bank for the third time!
    They advised me once I receive the cheque in the mail from them. They will remove the ***** alert ( the other times I called they did not admit this could be done)
    I did not feel comfortable contacting the business direct after I called about the sparking new GFI outlet ,got a call a week later just telling me I had to contact my bank .
    no effort made to repair outlet .
    which effects me and my senior Nieghbor( live in a semi)
    as soon as I receive the check will close my complaint

    As you have now let us know you did not receive the cheque, We will cancel the original and  we will have the new cheque dropped off at your home  as the mail is not reliable at this time. It will be dropping it off July 8th between 9 am - 12PM.  Please note  you will have to sign for receipt of the cheque.
    Please Note your actions ( the ***** Alert ) has had drastic conciseness on our small business. We are requesting the alert be removed immediately upon receipt of the cheque. We need written conformation the alert has been removed from the bank it was taken out upon.  If the alert is not remove it will have not choice but to take further action as  Groves Electric did not commit any ********** acts and have done nothing but try to be helpful in this unfortunate situation.

    Cheque has arrived ! The reason I put unresolved was that groves wants written confirmation from the bank that I removed the ***** alert /the bank has giving me verbal info that they removed it but they refused to give written. 8AM . Thanks for your help.
