    Contracted Mackereth Contractors to do a small ensuite renovation on May 10, 2024. Deposit of $15,000 given on this date. Work scheduled to start June 17, 2024. Work started on June 17, 2024 and another $15,000 was given (totaling $30,000) for quoted job of $31,142 +GST or 85% of job total given up front.

    Mackereth demo'd the bathroom over two days June 17 and June 18, then disappeared and become unresponsive to phone calls, texts and emails for 4 weeks. Finally was able to get a hold of ****** ********* on July 18, 2024 via phone call and he said he would restart the job the next week July 23, 2024. His crew worked two days then he disappeared and became unresponsive to phone, email texts. Visited his retail location and they would only say I have to contact ****** ********* (who does not return calls) they could not help in any way. After another few weeks of unresponsiveness I sent him the attached letter which states he needs to complete the work contracted or return funds provided to him minus a reasonable amount for the work done. After receiving the letter he had his crew work another couple of days August 14 and August 16 then has gone unresponsive again. ****** refuses to answer the phone or return emails. Tried visiting their retail location looking for help and it has been closed for the past 3 weeks. Only way to get a hold of ****** is by phone, Email or text which he does not respond. I simply want Mackereth to complete the job or refund my money so that I can find someone else to complete the work. I have been without a bathroom for 2.5 months on a verbal quoted 3 week job. I am also concerned that the proper permits have not been filed for the renovation of my property. Picture of bathroom as of writing this attached. After numerous attempts still will not respond as to when he will resume work. * Also claims to have a A+ BBB rating on his quote.

    In Feb 2022 I contacted Darryl M. to reshingle and replace any deteriorated roof sheeting, install new 5 inch eavestroughs, 4 new down spouts and leaf filters. Inital quote was $18,119.25. The final price was $20,224.18 because of increased number of replaced roof sheeting. The job was completed, as was verbally stated at my front door , by the on-site foreman Laurie B. June 10, 2022. That same day, June 10, 2022, I paid the invoice in full. On June 23 2022 I noticed a punctured hole and a crumpled area in the new eavestrough. I contacted Darryl by phone as I was not getting a response by email. So far I've called his number 8 times and emailed numerous times with pictures of damage, went through the damage with Jay his inspector, who concluded that it has to be repaired/replaced. I talked on the phone with Laurie B., who was the foreman on the job, about it on Sept 2 2022. He said he spoke to his crew about it and all denied damaging the trough. He then said that he would come and see me. That was 16 days ago and this problem has been going on for 3 months and 1 week since it was paid in full with no resolution. Darryl did say that he would take care of it in his e mail on July 01 2022. * ** ***** ** **** ******** *** ******* ** ************* ******. I just want the job to be completed with a new eavestrough, as that is what I paid for.
