    Hired ************************* (Shields Masonry Experts) to install the limestone slab hearth and stone veneer of a fireplace. Initially, he seemed to have a good work ethic and a commitment to quality, and we were satisfied with the initial results.But he installed the veneer leaving significant gaps between the stones, creating an uneven alignment in large sections of the fireplace. He said that it would only take him one day to mortar the gaps, but he repeatedly delayed and rescheduled the work, and was a no-show for multiple appointments.The fireplace looks like the unfinished effort of a do-it-yourself amateur, and is not what could reasonably be expected of a masonry expert. Despite a promising start, *** abandoned the project without notice or explanation, proving himself to be unreliable and unprofessional.
