      2023/08/25 Purchased vehicle outright from dealership.National Auto Finance Motor vehicle inspection station license ******* Car had winter tires and rims stored in car, was on nice rims and all season tires. Came home and had a mechanic friend point out they would never pass a safety. Average tread depth was 0.8mm. Provincial regulations state 2.5 mm and under must be replaced and are not safety compliant.Contacted dealership, a little back and forth came to resolution for the financial side of the issue. They gave me 4 generic tires at their expense.When I went to collect my tires, the salesman said something that absolutely infuriated me.Sorry about that, what we did was put the winter tires on so it could pass the safety. Then we put the nicer rims back on because they look coolerI couldnt believe what I heard. They took an unsafe vehicle into the shop. Changed the tires so the vehicle could pass inspection. THEN to take the tires off and replace them with bald non compliant tires and put the car back on the lot to deliver it to **** was never told during the purchase process that this musical tires situation was going to be performed.This conduct is a direct violation of the code of ethics set out by *****.Technician **************************** code number ************* Salesperson ***************************** Manager **************** Im appalled they chose to endanger my safety and other road users because they thought the rims looked cooler on my car.
