    I bought a car from **** at 417 auto sales on December 18th 2023. He was initiailly going to get the safety done at AC automotive, but because they wanted to safety extra things, he decided to rush safety it at another shop. When I recieved the car, the suspension and brakes were both having issues (front springs and rear breaks were "fixed" in the safety.) I contacted **** to find out who did the safety and get paperwork as my car felt unsafe and felt the safety was not up to standards and wnated it looked at ASAP. I did not hear back from him for 8 days, and only did because I messaged him back. He then said he was still trying to get the paperwork, and couldnt tell me if only one spring or both springs were replaced, and some of the work that was supposed to be done in the safety was not done. Very unprofessional.He finally got me the paper work two days ago on Friday January 12th. After a bit of discussion he THEN sent me recall information that he had in Novemeber, that he intentionally withheld from me during the sale to give himself leverage over the price of the car. This also put me in potential critical or fatal danger as the recall was about a possible engine fire, while also giving me the customer false confidence in my purchase. I reached out to him again, and his only solution was to go back to the person who did the poor work safety to have him look at it again. Nothing about rectifying the fact that he used slimy sales tactics to sell me a potentially dangerous car.I reached out and made a complaint with the *****, and they have advised me to get a MTO inspection station to look over the safety to make sure it was up to standards, which I will be doing ASAP. At this point, I want a full refund, or a good amount of money back as it was not a fair sale. And as a company that represents the BBB, I think it is worth looking into, as this was all around very unprofessional and downright dangerous.

    Regarding the safety inspection, We always aim to ensure that our vehicles meet safety standards before they are sold. Three different garages checked the car thoroughly and the work was completed as per their instructions. Some things were not even part of safety but we still did complete them just for good customer experience. 

    Our team is committed to providing prompt and transparent communication with our customers. Regarding the recall information, I want to clarify that it was not our intention to withhold any vital information from you during the sale.

    We take vehicle safety seriously, and any recalls, campaigns or potential safety issues are always disclosed to our customers. I apologize if there was any miscommunication or oversight in this regard.

    In terms of a resolution, We booked an appointment with ********** after the sale and fixed some extra things also, which were not part of the safety work. I hope that helps.

    the transaction happened march 17th at around 5 pm. I paid 10600 dollars plus tax. the advertisement said that the car came with a list of things the car had like a sunroof,power windows, ac and a bunch of other things and upon seeing the car i noticed the car sunroof wasnt working i came to a agreement after arguing with him about it. i said you advertisedd it with a sunroof and said he would not fix it cause it cost too much and he didnt have too he only had to do the saftey. He then took money off for the car that i can accept this mistakeand i agreed. I then tried the ac and it was winter when i bought the car so i thought it was ok when i tested it and after three weeks (i have only owned the car for three weeks) the weather got warm and i turned on the ac and it didnt work. i was then told that there is nothing he can do but top up the freon because it was winter and they didnt test the ac before selling me the car and but no where in the add did it say as is, it only said it came with all these things like ac , sunroof,bluetooth,power windows and all that plus a saftey, and that he didnt have to do that he only will cover the saftey even though it was advertised with ac. He then told me that he advertised it that way because it has ac and a sunroof and didnt have to specify if it was working or not and that he is doing me a favor by even offering me anything. i then told him he can't do that and he said there's nothing you can do ill get my mechanic to top off the freon but if its anything else its too bad. i then said i will call my lawyer to see if there is anything illegal about what he did. he then said go ahead theres nothing you can do and that im lucky he was working with me. i never got a date or number to even top up the freon. pls help out with this i am very uncomfortable dealing with him as he gets rude and starts raising his voice and belittling everthing i say.

    Hi There,

    This is not at all what happened. He is saying the opposite. I have text messages from him saying, " You have ripped off the wrong person." I always try to work with my customers even after the sale to help them as much as I can but some things are not under my control. AC is not part of the safety but I still told him to bring the car to my garage for a free diagnose, as it might only need a freon. He then continued to choose to be rude and threaten to contact his lawyer. I can do nothing on my end if he is not willing to work with me. We gave him 30 days or 1000 kms warranty on safety issues and offered him extended warranty for the future repairs but he declined the extended warranty coverage. 

    I am still willing to offer him a free AC diagnose and freon topup if needed. Hope that helps!
