    We had a very unfortunate experience with Vaughan and King Stonecraft & Masonry. After hiring Vaughan to work on our historic building, and paying a substantial deposit of over $9000.00, Vaughan repeatedly failed to show up to start the work. We had a contact with this business that stated very clearly the expected completion date. Vaughan didn't even start work until well after that date had come and gone. When he did finally show up, he only completed a very small amount of work and left a gaping hole in the back of our building, leaving it open to the elements without any clear indication of when (if ever) he was planning to come back to the job and at least close up the hole.
    Finally we decided to cut our losses and take Vaughan to court over the matter. A judgement has been granted in our favour and now Vaughan is avoiding us and will not return any of the deposit we paid him. To be clear, we only requested a portion of the deposit back to account for the very small amount of work Vaughan actually did do, which we thought was a generous offer considering we had to complete the job ourselves. We essentially paid Vaughan a hefty sum to leave a giant hole in our brick wall.
    I'm sure Vaughan is a skilled mason when he actually puts his mind and effort to the job. Unfortunately he did not care enough about our home to even bother showing up. He gladly took our money and left us with nothing to show for it.
    We do not recommend King Stonecraft & Masonry.
