    I HIRED BILL *** **** ****** *** SOMEONE RECOMMENDED ME , HE TOLD ME HE WILL CHARGE ME $1800 ,WHICH WAS FARE ENOUGH , LONG STORY SHORT BY END OF MOVING DAY HE KEEP MESSAGING ME AND ASK ME FOR MORE MONEY ADD AND START MENTALY ****** TO MY KIDS AND ME ON THE PHONE AND SAID I'LL NOT GIVE U STUFF IF YOU PAYING ME HE TOOK ALTOGETHER $4500 . I WAS OUT OF TOWN FOR MEETING AND HE ASK FOR MORE MONEY AT THE DOOR WHEN I WAS NOT THERE AND START SCARING MY YOUNGER DAUGHTER SHE IS 17 AND SHE CALLED ME AND SAID HES NOT GIVING OUR STUFF IN MIDDLE OF MEETING HE ASK ANOTHER $1000 , AND WE GAVE AND HE THOW OUR STUFF IN THE GARAGE MY DAUGHTER MADE VIDEO , AND WITH ****** HE TOOK MY DAUGHTER INITIAL IN HIS FAKE PAPER AND HE BROKE MY 72" SAMSUNG TV AND OTHER SIDE GLASS TABLE HE DAMAGE MY STUFF WHEN I CAME BACK AND ASKING FOR MONEY HE START ********* AGAIN , ON PHONE HE IS NICE BUT IN REAL LIFE ** ** ****** ***** ***** **** ** ** ******* ******* .I WANT MY NEW TV FROM HIM WHICH HE DAMAGE AND HIS WORKERS .* ***** *** ********* ** ****** *** **** HIRE *** **** ** **** **** **** * I LIVE WITH MY KIDS WORK HARD AND HE TOOK $4500 FROM ME AND DAMAGE MY TV AND SOME OTHER STUFF .AND TOP IF I AM ASKING FOR THIS HE KEEP MESSAGING ME ****** ARGUMENTS AND FAKE DOCUMENT WHICH U CAN PRINT OUT FROM ***** .HE HAS NO COMPANY . ** ** **** ****** ******* *** ***** ****** ** ******* ***** ********* TO COLLECT MONEY HE CALL FROM DIFFERENT NUMBERS AND BE NICE ON THE PHONE UNTIL HE SHOW *** **** ***** ** ******** **** *** ****** ** **** * * **** ** *** ** DAMAGE AND MONEY HE TOOK FROM ME .     I used OVL to move from Alberta to Ontario. Only had a couple smaller pieces of furniture, the rest was boxes and tubs. I was given a quote based on what I said I had. And I was assured OVL had insurance for while my stuff was in their possession so I did not get extra insurance. BIG MISTAKE!! When I called to arrange drop off of my stuff I was told the truck carrying my belongings had an accident 4 days earlier, and yet this was the first I was hearing of it, and had not arrived at their destination yet. I was also told some of the furniture stuff was damaged but “boxes and tubs looked fine”. The day my stuff was delivered there was WAY more damage than I was led to believe. And they were trying to unload stuff off the truck that was not mine. So when I went to pay it came in almost 700lbs overweight. When I viewed the damages I contacted Bill about there being way more damage and about finding things in my boxes after the movers left that were not mine. Some of the boxes that were delivered were my things but were not my original boxes so I knew some boxes or tubs were damaged so badly they had to be replaced. I was told they were not going through insurance so to go through and figure out depreciation value and get back to him. So I weighed every box as I went through it and am still wondering to this day how they got the weight they did. Once I told Bill my assessment, he agreed to pay that and then promptly stopped responding to all correspondence. I even had a lawyer write OVL a letter a few months later requesting they show proof that I got my deposit back and pay what they agreed to pay. They showed what they considered proof of returned deposit and still did not pay. 8 months after the move I decided to give it one last attempt from a different number because I thought they might respond if they didn’t know it was me calling and sure enough they answered and it took another 2 weeks of pushing but I finally got what they agreed to pay me.

    I can only confirm what I have been reading in many recent comments...
    Unfortunately, we choose OVL to move our life from Toronto to Calgary end of June. We explicitly required a single move (everything loaded in 1 truck on our home and unloaded in our new home) - It was stated in our contract and paid a premium for that service (we had cheaper quotes with competitors with shared trucks that we didn't want). Our stuff ended being moved around and arriving in 2 shipments 1 month apart, 1 chair missing and pretty much every piece of furniture more or less damaged.
    The crew on arrival had damaged our new house too (dents on walls and flooring). They had to reassemble our furniture, but they didn't have any tool to do it...
    Everything you can imagine, be sure Bill will mention it.
    "Truck had to deliver stuff in Vancouver and Edmonton before us" > not joke here, Bill told me our stuff was in the back of the truck and it was easier to go to Vancouver first...
    "Truck had mechanical issue"
    "Driver was sick"
    ...
    After that, we have been following up to request insurance claim for missing chair and damages for months... I had provided, pics, invoices, everything Bill asked for... but only to receive :
    "It's taking a long time"
    "Waiting for insurance to get back to me"
    "I'm not in the office"
    "I'll get back to you tomorrow"
    Finally Bill is now ghosting me (no surprise here, I have read similar behaviour from other reviews). Bill had told me over the phone that "He would have everything fixed because he was a man of his word". I hoped it would eventually happen, but I was just dreaming (I was reading reviews and loosing confidence). I confronted him about these recent reviews, but never his fault, always customers to blame...
    So, I am now posting my terrible experience with this horrible company so hopefully not other people will be facing such poor service and horrible customer service.

    We, unfortunately, used OVL for a move in January 2023, from Ontario to Alberta. On the day of the move, 2 cube trucks were sent for pick up. (I expected a transport as discussed with Bill R. Everything was loaded and packed securely on the two cube trucks. We felt comfortable after the loading, and struck out for Alberta to await our house hold goods to arrive on the two cube trucks in transit. After arriving in our new home in Alberta, we contacted Bill R. to find out our where our items were, as they exceeded the date promised. Finally received a load late one evening, however, it wasn't one of the trucks loaded out of Ontario. Found out they off loaded in Toronto, reloaded, and then shipped across the country. Then, the load was off loaded again in Calgary. We eventually received some of our items on three different trucks on different days over a period of several days. Upon arrival for each load, the conversation from the driver, began, "sorry, there was some damage..."We are still waiting for our damage claim and missing items! All messages unanswered by Bill R. I also requested weigh scale tickets, as I'm certain they added weight in OVL's favour. Reason for this claim is they never supplied the so-called weigh scale tickets. ****** **** ***** **** **** * *** ****** ** **** ***** * ******* ***** *** ***** ****** ******** ** ***** **** *** ***** ** **** ******* ** *** * ********** ******* **** ************ *** **** **** ************ *** ************ OVL might be fine at moving short distance small moves, however, their long distance moving is brutal. *************** *** ************* * **** **** ***** **** **** ********* ** ******** ** **** ************ I have all my information including dates, conversations, texts etc ** ****** ***** **** ** ***** *** *** **** ************

    The worst customer service and moving experience of my life. Never received any insurance after many items were damaged. This was over a year ago. The owner, Bill has ghosted me and, will not return calls or emails.

    Ontario Van Lines will force you to waive a complaint after overcharging you by offering you a discount on the already overstated invoice. Ontario Van Lines will pick up your moving items and take them to a storage without you knowing the whereabouts. Ontario Van Lines will provide a weigh-certificate, but you have no evidence that it was only your items that were weighed. Ontario Van Lines Tare is not disclosed on their trucks.
