My father purchased 9 tickets (50 dollars per tickets with total cost of $450) from this location for a New Year's dinner and dancing celebration in the month of November or even earlier to ensure that our whole family could attend. When purchasing the tickets, he asked if 3 teenagers could come along for the night (one is 14 yrs old and the other 2 are 16 yrs old). He was told no problem. He repeated: "Are you sure they are allowed to come" Yes was the response. The whole point was to celebrate with our children together as a family...so we wouldn't have bought the tickets if they WEREN'T allowed to go. On December 31st 2023: Once supper was over, the manager came to tell my dad that my girls and my nephew had to leave before 9pm. We argued this stating that we had asked this question upon purchase and we were told that it wouldn't be problem. So naturally, the fair thing to do is refund us for at least the dance part of the evening as we were misled by this institution. We were denied multiple times and asked to leave. Upon further clarification I was told if the kids didn't leave they were calling the police. I believe the police did come but my father wanted to leave and not make a big fuss. I believe they misled my father to sell tickets as it was their first year of putting on such an event as stated on their ******** page.I would like to add that the business advertised that there would only be 100 tickets sold but they went ahead and sold 140 tickets. A few tables did not get the food promised because they ran out of food and our family left there hungry because of this as well. I have included below a picture of the advertisement stating this. I have send a typed personalized letter to the president of the **** in Cornwall but I have not heard back yet. My ticket number was ticket #** and the other 8 must be tickets around that number. Nowhere on the ticket does it state that only 19+ adults can buy tickets. I have enclosed that picture below.

The ***** of ********* and volunteers of ***** 424 Wing regrets that Ms.
*********************** found it unacceptable that the duty bartender requested the three minors in her party to leave the building at **** hours on New Years Eve.

***** 424 Wing is licensed for liquor sales with the Alcohol and ***************** of *******.  The Wing is licensed for liquor sales primary, food service secondary.  During food service we operate as a restaurant.
When food service is over the Wing operates as a nightclub.

After the meal was served, it was the duty bartenders responsibility to ensure that no person under 19 years of age enter or remain on premises.
Our bartender had full legal authority to request all minors leave the building.  All of our bar staff are ******* *********** Certified.

The only other time minors are permitted, is when we rent the hall for private functions - such as weddings or birthday parties.  For hall rentals - the main hall is closed to the general public and members use the members only lounge.  During private functions the customer is responsible and the parent or guardian supervise what their children are allowed to consume.

    ***** 424 Wing is a registered ******* Not-for-Profit Organization.
***** 424 Wing has no paid employees.  Everyone is a volunteer our bar
officer, kitchen staff, cleaners, and the entire board.   Nobody on the
executive, or in our **************, would have advertised that children were allowed at our New Years Eve party.

It is regretful that there was a misunderstanding.  It is a shame Ms.
****** did not enjoy New Years Eve.  Her table was the first to be called to the buffet line.  We called their table first because we knew there were minors and they had to leave early (which they also knew). We did not sell more tickets than are posted on the fire regulation maximum occupancy.  Some people did sneak in and we admit that we did run out of the main course early.  However, our cook was quick to resolve the issue
    - he prepared beautiful platters of pub fare for the last table and to feed the volunteers.

Our volunteers are all new to the job, we do our best, and we are learning.  We acknowledge the fact that we had a few unauthorized party
goers.   The entertainment committee has already made changes to the
tickets for our next event.  New tickets will clearly indicate to the ticket holder that they must be age of majority; and future tickets will be harder to falsify.

New Years Eve ********** Note:  105 tickets sold; plus 12 volunteers (free), plus 2 DJ (free), and 10 pers not accounted for (loss).
