*************************** is the owner of MHH Events & Entertainment. I booked 5 events with her (she demands payment months in advance for all her events) and attended two very poorly to zero advertising done for either event. To the point she offered a 50% discount on future events due to the lack of customers and sales. I lost a substantial amount of money on my hot foods and baked goods that were no longer sellable after both attended events. As the third event date was approaching I reached out to ******* via a ************** chat she had set up for all the vendors to communicate and asked her what and how much advertising she had done for the upcoming event and she replied as much as she could. She posted it on her FB page that's it. Not even a road sign just like past events. I suggested that she should do more advertising as it would bring in more people and she replied for me to not have that discussion in the group chat rather to private message her. I said that others are asking the same question and that we would like to know how successful this event would be. She then removed and blocked me from the group chat and continued a conversation in messenger at which time I advised her I wanted a refund for the remaining three events and that I no longer wish to do any of her events. She replied that she will not be providing me with a refund as she doesn't have any money and then she blocked me from messenger. I recently found out she has been taking money from other vendors and not providing the service as promised to them either. She is stealing the vendors money and pocketing it and giving them false hope of a successful event. Her business needs to be shut down and stopped for the sake of the vulnerable vendors who don't know any different and will believe in her lies and deceit.

This complaint is full of lies and twists of the facts, I don't even know where to begin. Tomorrow I will spend the time to go through each claim, one by one, with facts and messages to back up my responses. I will get back to you then.

I have attached my response in a Word document as well as other information to support up my response. I have 2 more documents to add which I will try to add to a separate message as this has only allowed 5. I apologize for the length of this response, but the complainant's response was lengthy and very untrue. I noticed she did not provide documents to support her claims. Thank you for your time in attending to this matter.

I am rejecting this response because: ******* did not deny her events were not successful rather admits the foot traffic was poor as well as claims signage is not permitted when in fact it is in the city of ******. I am still requesting a refund of $315.27 not the entirety of the invoice but the three events I will not be attending as ******* has a generous amount of time to replace two of my spots.

I will add to an additional response.

    Sincerely,

Yes, attendance was slow at the 2 events in February. It was not the case at the March market. Attendance varies from month to month, venue to venue, etc etc etc. There is no guarantee on attendance for any market. As I stated earlier, because this vendor booked her spots in January, I declined further applications for food vendors of this type and they have since booked elsewhere. I cannot fill her spaces. Furthermore, the application clearly states that all bookings are final. I have attached proof of this information in my previous message. All vendors are welcome to find replacements, if the replacement does not conflict with other vendors already booked. The vendor has chosen not to attend. That is her choice to make, but it is not my responsibility to refund her at this time. IF, and that is a big IF this late in the season, I have a request from another similar food vendor to book her spots, then I will refund her. I have done this is the past for other vendors (who had legitimate reasons not to attend such as illness or family emergency). There is a $10 restocking fee for this courtesy as it takes me time and incurs banking costs. If the vendor finds her own replacement, who is approved by the organizer (myself) then she is responsible to receive payment from her replacement.

I have spent an inordinate amount of time on this situation which has happened because the vendor chooses not to attend, when she knows full well that all organizers of markets have the same requirements. I will not respond further as I am fully within my rights to not provide a refund.

Thank you to the BBB for your time, *******

I am rejecting this response because: I originally started this complaint to receive a refund and let it be known that ******* is not in this business to positively support paying vendors at her events. Rather more for her own selfish profits. With her not willing to provide me with a refund, I will be sure to attend the two events left that I paid her for.

    Sincerely,
