My husband, ***************** and I went for our 20 yr anniversary Aug 10-12/23. We spent our honeymoon here Aug ****. The Inn boosts false advertising of a wonderful Inn, waterspa, wine cellar and chef meals on their ******** & website. In reality place is dirty, completely rundown. Wine cellar & Waterspa closed. Stains, wear, dust on furniture, in ************** scraps on carpet. Room balcony all rotten wood, plastic chairs broken. Broken furniture in room with missing handles on armour. Room lock did not work. Had to move room as smelled like soot from uncleaned fireplace for first night and had to return to room for 2nd night. Dirty pool, staff smoking & drinking by pool before their dinner shift. Smoking area designated behind building. So called renowned chef prepared meals were undercooked or overcooked. Finally, spa closed day we were leaving. Front desk said email sent out with notice and discount. We did not get email nor discount applied but full price at check out until we asked again at checkout. Front desk said public health shut down due to spray tan. Ironically, I work for public health and there was no public health paper posted on spa to note infraction or temporary closure of pool. Employee commented that place was rundown and owners changing hands so not going to maintain. When we voiced disappointment to front desk, they blamed covid. I emailed Inn the list of our complaints and ask for refund and no response. Covid hit everyone hard. We saved our money to enjoy what they adverstise as a getaway with charm, chef food, and waterspa. None of that happened. They are false advertising to people and profiting with high prices when they are doing less than bare minimum. It was the worst-case for a stay and we would like a full refund and for business to take responsibility, professionalism, cleanliness, honest advertising, standard safety upkeep. We also would like to prevent another family losing their money. We have pictures and video if you wish more.
