My wife booked our Vacation with Sunwing to Varadera Cuba, paid in full. We were supposed to fly out Dec 17 2022, Sunday afternoon and it was delayed without advanced notice, there was complete chaos at Pearson Checkin. Most Sunwing employees stated it wasn't their issue and walked away, Somehow, we managed to get a flight out the next day, 14 hours later. We missed almost one day (afternoon and next morning) of our vacation.
The return flight was also delayed 6 hours the following Monday.
Our bungalow at Resort was on the ground floor, and all you can hear are the people walking very loudly in the unit above, our a/c unit had only one temperature so we froze at night because it blew right on our faces and it was so loud, I barely had much sleep on first night. The room was full of mosquitoes and there was a Gekko in the curtain scared my kids.
I will definitely not consider Sunwing for next family vacation.Sunwing Vacations Inc

It is always disappointing to read when our customers have returned home unhappy with their holiday. Although you submitted your review to the BBB in January, we are only receiving it now. We understand how flight delays are upsetting and frustrating. We apologize if the ground agents at Pearson were not helpful. It is possible that you may be elligible for compensation from the airline but you must go to www.sunwingcares.ca to submit a ticket.

No communication from them. Stranded in Cancun. Trying to make claim on their app. Says our flight return wasn’t delayed more than three hours so won’t let me make claim. Flight was delayed 3 days. Other airlines were communicating and getting people home so weather while causing some issues was not the only reason.Sunwing Vacations Inc

I never received my $200 for the price drop guarantee. When I attempted to email *******@*********** since this is where the email came from, it said "the recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now. Please try resending your message later, or contact the recipient directly." I then filled out a form online AND did a survey. I have yet to hear back 2 months later..... The refund was issued to the credit card on file ending in the last 4 digits of **** in the amunt of $600. This was for 3 persons. The refund was issued to the **** on file which shows you as the card holder. This was processed on January 17, 2023. Please check with your credit card company.

Was in Dominican Republic and return flight was December 23, the weather in Canada affected flights. This I understand, however communication was terrible and was total chaos being shuttled back and forth to airport for flights that were cancelled. Live chat representative left me stranded, representative at hotel didn't respond and they put me back on a transfer bus to hotel, drove half way to airport and then back to hotel. We were on bus for multiple hours not knowing, app didn't display flight changes. I ended up taking my own taxi to airport because you can't trust this company to communicate with you..never againSunwing Vacations Inc

This airline has no heart. My husband and I have been booking travel with Sunwing for many years and have initiated trips that brought family and friends with us as well. Sunwing has changed our flights and vacation dates with little notice and we have accommodated. However, our loyalty means nothing to them. My 57 year old husband was just diagnosed with an ********** ******** and we cannot travel this year while he endures aggressive treatment to save his life. Sunwing will not return our deposit on compassionate grounds, ** ** ******** **** *********** ******* ** *** *****, nor will they even give us a credit to use next year.

We truly are sorry to hear of your upset and especially the news of the diagnose of your husband.
The cancellation of your booking in December 2022 was subject to cancellation penalties of the deposit on file. These penalties will remain as there was no insurance on file. I'm not sure if you can claim through your personal insurance or your credit card company as a significant time has passed but we would encourage you to speak with your travel agent.

We have booked a trip to Varadero traveling from January 6, 2023 to January 16, 2023. Sunwing called us and told us that our flight has been canceled and we had three choices; take a full refund, rebook a new trip at today's rates, or move our current booking to January 18, 2023.
I was told that we had no other choice. Called our travel agent and they were able to book a new trip from January 6, 2023 to January 15, 2023, however, because it was a NEW booking the difference in price was $20.

Sunwing did nothing to help us, instead, we had to panic and work with our travel agent to book a “new” vacation to the same resort for the same time period less a day, at higher rates.
This was a pure cash grab by Sunwing. If it was an itinerary change then Sunwing would have made the changes to our flight, apologized for the loss of the day and refunded the cost.
They could have even provided a coupon for the upgraded flight we bought, anything. Instead, they refused to let me speak with anyone because they "had been provided all available options". Which was COMPLETELY untrue!!Review fromMario D

I booked with sunwing in Aug 2022 for a trip to orlando, florida for january 2023. In December several friends of mine who also booked same trip with there own agencies, started to receive cancellation emails regarding flight. They immediately booked with alternate airlines and paid almost same price as in August. I was hesitant to do the same because i received no email and I didn't want to in-cure any penalties. I got on the phone and called ********* and sunwing. They both said that they couldn't do anything. Sunwing said that ********* would have to make the change. ********* said that Sunwing could only make the change. This is after sending e mails and being on the phone for a total of 2hours. Frustrating experience. In the end I was forced to book with alternate airline. I was forced to pay more and its a connecting flight. Sunwing called me a week later to inform me of the cancelations. All my friends had received there notices a week prior. And casually they proceed to tell me that I could re-book at current booking prices? So you cancel a flight, month in advance, no explanation and now I have to rebook at double and tripple the price I paid for being pro-active? There seems to be something seriously flawed with this situation. Not sure how your errors are for someone else to pay? You simply needed to inform me of the cancellation immediately, (which would still be not nice) so that I could make alternate arrangements. Your errors cost me an additional $100.00 ,my time, taking time from work to deal with you, and not being on a direct flight. If you decided to partner up with another company to drive up sales and increase profits, that is on you and you are still responsible for there actions. Simple!
You canceling a flight that I booked months in advance shall be a problem for you more than to me. You reneged on your obligations and went back on our agreement. Why is there no steep financial consequences for you that discourages this?Sunwing Vacations Inc

Schedule changes and/or cancellations are handled through the booking agent.
