  I have used this store to purchase glasses over the course of about 20 years. Today, I went in to the store to ask for my pupillary distance. They only needed to spend 2 minutes to go to their file and look up the number (or 2 numbers) and give it/them to me.
  They chose to tell me, instead, that they would charge $50 to transfer my complete file to another optician. I was not asking for a full transfer of my file, I was only asking for the pupillary distance.
  They chose to not provide that personal biometric heathcare data to me. Hence, I want to make everyone aware of this company's practice. In addition, I will not be using their services again in the future. Typically I spend more than $500 on glasses (I have a high prescription). So this company has not lost, perhaps $5,000 worth of my future lifetime business by not sharing 1 number with me at the cost of 2 minutes of their time.

That said, it's important to understand that PD is only one of several crucial measurements used to craft your glassesespecially in cases involving high myopia prescriptions. Other key factors include segment height, base curve, pantoscopic tilt, and frame wrap angle, and much more, all of which are specific to your chosen frame and how it fits your face. Our patient file transfer chart includes all of these key ********** *******, the College of Opticians allows us to charge a reasonable recovery fee when preparing a patient file transfer chart. Our $50 fee covers the time and expertise required to compile this detailed information and to explain how each element impacts your lenses. Including all applied coatings and measurements. This ensures that you have everything needed to replicate the same level of vision and comfort youve had with your eyewear from us. If you require the information for another Licensed Optician, Optometrist or Ophthalmologist, we provide this document directly to them at no charge.High prescriptions are particularly sensitive to small measurement variations. Even minor deviations outside of national tolerance guidelines can significantly affect visual performance and comfort, which is why we take such care in our dispensing process.Despite the misunderstanding, Id still like to invite you back. I would be more than happy to sit down with you, at no charge, and go over all the measurements weve taken, what they mean, and how theyre used in crafting your lenses.
