I dropped my 2 beautiful healthy strong rottweiller girls Bear Bear and ****** off with **** at Trillium Woods on Feb 8th. 2024. Trillium Woods was committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for ********** and to keep them safe and healthy while I was away. **** said she would walk both of my girls daily in the wooded area behind her home and kennel. We had agreed that if my girls ever needed medical attention, she would contact me and bring my girl/s to my vet at ******** Vet just outside of Pembroke. I gave her this information when we first met. After paying **** $800, **** told me Bear Bear had a couple issues, hot spots on her back which she had just noticed that morning plus her limp had gotten worse in the past 3 days. **** had no limp when she was boarded. I had to assist **** to get to my car and get inside. She looked terrible and could barely walk. I got her home and realized right away she was in trouble healthwise. She had laboured breathing through mouth only, constant mucus in her eyes, lameness, couldn't walk, eat or drink. **** neglected my girl and made her suffer needlessly. I am having trouble coming to term that my girl suffered. As it turns out my girl had a systemic fugai infection which is highly contagious. I rushed her to emergency dog hospital in ******. She was severely dehydrated and was in critical condition. The fungas infection had damaged her lungs too badly and affected her other organs and **** had to be put down. I feel restititution is required as **** ignored my girls pain and suffering for days. She obviously didn't let **** out of her cage otherwise she would have noticed my girl was in trouble long before I picked her up on Feb 27th. I am sick with guilt for trusting her with **********. I will never ever use a kennel again. Please see photo "mybaby" which was taken 10 minutes before she died. You have no idea of the pain and suffering **** has caused me as I cry while writing this. I request no contact except for sending an etransfer to ***********************

    To whom it may concern

The complainant is a long term returning client who has no previous concerns over my care and procedures in that time. Although obviously distressing for the complainant his views and opinions are unfounded,i reached out personally after i was originally informed of the problem only to be left unanswered.

I didn't reach out while the complainant was on holiday as the dog did not exhibit any major symptoms or ailments during its stay until 48 hrs before the complainants return. Those being,a condition known as hotspots, commonly caused by a dog licking itself or moisture on the skin and slight limp on its front paw on the day of pick up. A topical antibiotic was applied to the hotspots on being first noticed and continued until pick up.

Due to the difference in time zones and length of travel time between ****** and ******** over a normally mild and common ailment such as hotspot i didn't reach out to the complainant,as was the case with the front paw 3 days prior to pick up.

I am beyond sorry for the tragic loss of ****, this is most unfortunate and distressing but was not a case of neglect or malpractice. I am truly sorry.

    yours faithfully
