I made an appointment with Greta's to have a bra fitting. I explained on the appointment form that I hadn't purchased a new bra in the past 6 years and was looking to get three. The appointment was confirmed for 10am on Feb. 10th 2023. When I arrived I was informed that masks are necessary inside the store. No exceptions. There is no longer a provincial mask mandate, even at the dentist or doctor. This store requirement is not mentioned anywhere on their website or on the confirmed appt. email. It is misleading to have this store requirement in place and not have it stated anywhere in advance to the buyer and save them a trip downtown, when they could have booked another location. Further it is discriminatory to keep this measure in place. It might be the personal preference of the staff or owner, but just like a restaurant whos owner likes to smoke they can't make a store rule that doesn't follow city or provincial laws. This rule is hidden to surprise the customer on arrival and if it was front and center on the website, appointment booking platform or in the email sent after booking I would have gone elsewhere. They need to have this rule on their website (top bar), their appointment booking page and on their booking confirmed email. Anything less is false advertising.

    Business Response

    Date: 25/02/2023

I have read the complaint and in response I have attached the paragraph on the website that is DIRECTLY ABOVE the book appointment button on my website, which is how the complainant booked her appointment.  As a private business I have the right to put requirements in place. Some businesses have postings of no shirt, no shoes, no service and as hospitals REQUIRE masks , I REQUEST, not require  a mask as is states "due to the fact we have Mastectomy clients going through Chemotherapy we request our clients wear a mask . Thank you for your compassion and understanding." At no time have we ever demanded no exceptions.

I trust this is satisfactory information **** *** ******** ********** of my website notification regarding our store protocols.

    Kindest regards
