Nov. 20, 2023 purchased a promotional gift card for $100.00 at Gilmours for grandson for Christmas. Grandson lives in Harrowsmith and had heard in Oct. 2023 that store would be closing (I was not aware since I don't live near). Lady before me also purchased gift card. The owner took the money, but didn't not say anything about closing. Store closed/declared bankruptcy in early December, leaving gift cards useless. Gilmour's website still shows they are actively open. 1. Want to warn others. 2. Would like to get my $100 back . I consider this fraud/outright theft. Owner obviously knew he was going to close but promoted gift cards anyway. Note: I have my credit statement, but no receipt since I gave it to my grandson in case gift card was not loaded properly.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  ****************** has tried to reach me by telephone on several occasions - unfortunately, I was not available; however, I did send a text message back to his voice message.  I accept that there must have been a misunderstanding - I had not been able to reach the business previously and since I don't live in the area, had to accept my grandson and his wife's comments.  I have now instructed my grandson to go ahead and use the gift card at *********.  Please now close this file.  It has been a complete misunderstanding obviously. Thank you,

    Sincerely,

    *******************************
