  I have taken my Bernese to get groomed at Completely Mutts a handful of times in the last two years. At first, my grooming was $100. The following time that I went, the cost increased to $130. I can understand price increases to an extent. Last month, I booked a grooming with a place close to where I live. I cancelled the appointment and booked with Completely Mutts as it was less expensive and confirmed the $130 price at the time of booking. I even booked with a new groomer in order to have my dog seen sooner. His grooming usually takes 3 hours to complete. I showed up after the 3 hours and was asked to come back in a half hour. I went to pay and they charged me $200 before tax. I was shocked and disappointed and questioned the groomer and she even noted the $130 price reflected on the blue card. She mentioned it must have been last year's pricing despite my calling to confirm prior. I wrote to the Owner who is currently out of town. She responded to me fairly quickly. She refuses to give me a credit for the grooming. She mentioned having spoken to the Groomer and that they charged me $90 for 1.5 hours of dematting. The grooming session took only 30 minutes longer than normal. The stories and amounts simply do not add up. The groomer said he had a big coat and some matting. I am aware that the website states additional fees for dematting. My dog definitely has matts on his underside but not any different from previous times. I am shocked and disgusted at the amount especially having confirmed beforehand. In the end, my dog is happy and looks great. I would definitely not recommend taking your pets to get groomed at Completely Mutts without talking to the groomer first to gauge how much extra time is required. It would have been nice to have been consulted for this extra amount.

  We are unable to give a firm price over the telephone without seeing the condition of a dog, we can only give an estimate. We do charge de-matting fees which are $30 per 30 mins as stated on our website/price list and Service Contract. Your dog required 90 minutes of de-matting which could have been avoided if he had been correctly brushed at home,,de-matting is time consuming and hard work.
