My elderly parents , booked a Quebec City tour with your company Ottawa Valley Tours. My father had open heart surgery and he still has heart issues. My mother has severe rheumatoid arthritis, her fingers are twisted and bad knees. This tour was not their first time booking their trip to *********** through Ottawa Valley Tours. The Quebec City tour trip was from Saturday, August 3, 2024 to Monday, August 5, 2024 and the weather was in high humidity levels for that long weekend. My elderly parents were looking forward to going on this trip again along with other elderly people that were on this trip too but little did they know that there was a lot of walking involved. On their first walk, the tour guide walked so fast that she lost some of the customers like my parents and my brother that they ended up somewhere else all together with some of the other customers that they travelled with. For the next long walk, They and some of the elderly people stayed on the bus since they could not do long walks and they wanted to stay cool. The bus driver would not allow the bus to stay running for them to have air conditioning due to regulations which I understand but the tour guide did not bring them somewhere where they could stay cool. They were sitting in the hot bus until the tour ended. Even if they got out of the bus there were no sitting areas for them. This was not safe for anybody, especially elderly people, to be left on the hot bus waiting during that high heat. In saying this, The travel agency that took the call - ********************** should be making customers aware of the long walks for the disabled and for elderly people. If the customers are not wanting to do long walks then there should be other options especially staying cool or other arrangements for them. This trip cost them about $2000 to sit in a hot bus most of the time is not right.
