******* **** from The Heat Source Inc. for appointment on Sept 20, 2023. Complaint Summary: - Service provider did not show for initial appointment - Service provider did not adequately check on intake that the job could be completed - Service provider billed incorrectly for a 2-storey sweep - Service provider did not complete the work as outlined on their website and in standard chimney sweeping services. I saw no indication that they did anything beyond shoving a brush of questionable length and type up the chimney. They did not: o Clean or inspect the appliance o Clean or inspect the functioning of the venting o Check the functioning of electrical parts (blower fan) o Inspect/fix any flashing or external components of the chimney o Provide any evidence or report of the advertised safety inspection. The 10-15 minutes it took instead of the 1-1.5 hrs that most websites indicate a regular sweeping should take is evidence in itself of an incomplete job. - Service provider did not address complaints beyond the billing of a 2-storey sweep Resolution requested: Cancellation of invoice in full. I’m not interested in having them come back as I have zero confidence in their ability to complete the job properly.
