  I need a contractor to help me to repave the driveway, interlock entrance to the house, parging, disassemble the deck, cleanup and redo the whole back yard, grading and sod the lawn, etc. A friend of mine gave me a referral to this contractor, ********************* owner of "Arc ************************************************ or *********************************** or "art613.com" **************. I got a written quote with a brief job description for excavation/ parging/ repointing/ concrete/ drainage and deck for $64,000 CDN. I paid ***** a 20% deposit $12,800 on May 31, 2023. Work commenced on June 5, 2023. I told him specifically that I wanted all the work to be done by mid-July the latest. I paid him in full ($64,000 + $1,700 (extra work order in July 2023)) on July 8, 2023 coz he said he needed to pay his crew.They did most of the work in June and July 2023. However they haven't finished all the work as promised on the initial written quote as we are in late October already. I've called and texted ***** many times and often, there's no response. Even if he responsed, it will be like "We're building 3 pools in Belleville now and we'll come later or next week." or "We've asked this company "XYZ" to fix your gutters. Haven't they showed up yet?"Here is a list of things that "Arc Design" hasn't completed as per written quote (NOT WARRANTY Work)1. A small section of the front lawn is still bare, just with brown sod while the rest of the front lawn is in lush green color.2. *****'s crew damaged 2 rain gutters during the renovation and he promised to have those fixed back in July 3. Finished the downspouts and extenders installation As for warranty work, a few cracks on the concrete driveway, a sinking concrete slab outside the garage door in the back yard, etc.Although they did a pretty good job in parging and the concrete work, it is very disappointing that they can never finish completing all the jobs that were listed on the quote.   We were referred to this company in August, 2022. The company was looking to expand its business in our area and as I am in sales here, the company owner hoped I could give him referrals for business. He, ***** *****, said he was going to provide us with a firepit area that would be “stunning” and a “show-piece” that would bring him more business. We had shown him a picture of the landscaping we wanted, which he said he could do, but he wanted to do something more that no one else did in our area. He promised we would be thrilled. He said he would give us a deal on the cost as the referrals would be worth it to him.
  Work began later than promised, stopped altogether for a few weeks, then cement was poured and he even did the front flower beds so “the look would flow to the back firepit area”.
  At the end of the project, the final product is horrible. The flower bed “curbs” are irregular and looks like a DIY project gone terribly bad. The back firepit area is a 15x15 cement pad with crooked saw cut lines that were supposed to mimic slate. The 12 inch border was supposed to be coloured concrete but is no different from the pad. There are patched areas, the entire pad edge is a mess. We are extremely upset with the whole project. We had numerous discussions with the owner and he feels there is nothing wrong with the results. He said we are “picky” and “narrow thinking”. We paid him in full, unfortunately, so we have zero leverage and he has walked away from us. He did offer to parge the edge of the firepit pad, but it would not change the issues of the look of the pad itself, and as it is poured concrete, there is nothing that can fix it that won’t cost us a large amount of money.
  The front flower bed curbs will have to be removed, at our expense, as they are horrible. We call them the Great Wall of China…. Not a single neighbour has expressed anything but amazement that a landscaping company would actually do such a terrible job. A request for refund was refused.
