On ******** I purchased a gently used ***** **** vertical platform lift to transfer my wheelchair from my d-elk to pool area below .I was told at time of purchase electrical hookup was included .At time of installation they did not have an electrician so they provided an extension cord which ran through my basement and plugged into the 110 wall socket .Despite numerous calls to the company owners for proper hookup no action was taken to date .l recently had work done in my basement and was informed that the extension cord hookup was both unsafe and violated the electrical code as the wheelchair lift required a 20 amp service and not a 110 system .The contractor informed **** access and they stated it was my responsibility for the electrical hook out despite -them telling me they would do it .l was never informed of the 20 amp hookup need and had I been I would have done it immediately as safety is a prime concern of mine .It cost me **** dollars to get it fixed properly .As I stated I was originally told they would do the hookup but despite numerous calls to them no action was taken .I am a disabled veteran ,amputee and am confined to a wheelchair ,l find it difficult to understand why a company wouldnt try to resolve this or not be upfront initially that it needed a 20 amp system and I was responsible.
