After weeks following a full payment via e transfer of the deposit, Dec 4th Hometown Remodeling was finally to begin work on my upstairs bathroom. It was quoted as **** day job a clear requirement for the work to be done as I have a child potty training & needs to have a mainlevel bathroom easily accessible.Work started, albeit very slowly. **** was nearly never here while a contractor who worked for him came to begin tearing out the bath and then the floor. With less than a week on the job **** was asking for more money, this was before the bath was finalized, before the floor had been completed. No work had be been completed. I agreed to his demand to pay early. The following week, again **** shows up asking for more money, above what was estimated & claiming it was for work previously agreed on ( I have documented proof that none of the increase requests were legitimate). We declined, this time my husband had said that we will hold on to the last payment until the work was completed. It was at this point, the work came to a stop. I have gaping holes in walls, loose wires hanging from my ceiling, plumbing that is leaking (I have photos of all of this). Following up for the last 3 weeks have proven unfruitful. The vanity that I had paid for, documented in emails, text and photos have still not been delivered. The excuses continue without any progress and the story changes. I have a police report stating the last update was Jan 4-5 it would be coming down. That time has come & gone, still no vanity. I've offered alternative solutions, refund for the vanity, alternative vanity or any solution to finish my bathroom. Nothing, has changed No progress No work. The buyers protection states 30days (purchased goods - vanity), the law says reasonable timeframe (contractors work). I am 3 weeks with nothing but new & ongoing excuses. After much investigation, I have a large number of other customers that have similar stories & the potential history of ongoing scam in town.
