After two years of daily service provision for my elderly parents, and with our account in good standing, Silver Lights unilaterally ended services and provided no period of notice. I cannot recommend this service.

I take all reviews seriously and I am sorry that your experience with Silver Lights Senior Services was not satisfactory. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by ending services with your parents, however, Silver Lights has safety protocols in place to protect both clients and staff and these standards were no longer being met on your end (ie:.decisions made regarding your parents safety and well-being when it comes to mobility issues, witnessed and unwitnessed falls, and potential injuries). Similarly, according to the Health and Safety Legislation of ******, employees have the right to refuse work if they have reason to believe the work is unsafe or dangerous to themselves or others and right to refuse unsafe or dangerous work as long as they have reasonable cause to believe that the work presents an immediate, imminent, or serious threat to the health or safety of themselves or another person. Upon speaking with my staff who were providing care to your parents, they did not feel it was safe for them or your parent to continue care in that manner. Your parents needs had changed and, in fact, on several occasions you and your appointed lead caregiver (not employed by my company) were informed that Silver Lights felt your parent required 24hr care for their safety and well-being.I understand that it can be very difficult when care is interrupted, however, it is also very important that my staff feel safe and feel that their client is safe when providing care, so I felt that it was best to stop services immediately due to these safety concerns. Your parents private caregivers (not employed by my company) working opposite shifts of my staff, would send multiple negative text messages to my staff almost daily. The working environment there was not satisfactory for my staff.Your account *** currently be in good standing, however, your account was not in good standing for many months (I encourage you to reach out to me for a detailed list of invoice reminders for your overdue account as there are too many to list here), with administrative staff needing to remind you to pay multiple times for the same invoices.I hope that you now better understand my decision, however, as previously mentioned, I encourage you to reach out to my Managing Director to discuss issues further and hopefully we can reach an amicable resolution. Silver Lights Senior Services takes staff and client safety very seriously and I hope that your parent receives the proper medical attention for any subsequent falls involving any potential injuries, and the care they need now put in place to ensure their on-going safety.
